i don't think Hagoromo was evil, but i do believe he was a rather foolish and haphazard individual who caused more trouble than there needed to be by making the choices that he did. Saving the world from Kaguya was practically the only time the world benefited from him being around.

Yeah, no. The Juubi was extremely stoppable in the war. First, Obito and Madara controlled it without any trouble. Then, Hashirama wrecked it with the gates. Then it got locked up in the Hokage's barrier. Then Obito sealed it with a hole in his chest. Then Madara sealed it in about 3 seconds.

That's a ratio of 6 to, what, 30-40,000 people?
Some of those things didn't hold the Juubi down in any case.
And, in the case of Madara, it's arguable the Juubi (Kaguya) wanted to be taken in because he was the proper vessel, not Obito.
