Today's chapter confirmed that Kaguya had Byakugan already. But it was just like a normal eye before eating the fruit.

But after eating the fruit, the eye either got it's abilities OR
Hagoromo's brother also born with chakra and instead of Rinnegan, he got byakugan. And that's how the Hyuuga clan with chakra emerged?

Perhaps since he had the Juubi's chakra, the Sage had Rinnegan instead of Byakugan?

so how is it possible to say that chakra's concept emerged after Kaguya ate the fruit?
IMO, she had byakugan but it was just a normal eye. The effects came after eating the fruit.

Is it confirmed that Kaguya never had the rinnegan? Her third eye looked like the juubi's eye which itself looks like a rinnegan, sharingan fusion with the tomoe pattern and all. SO6P said she had sharingan and byakugan but never denied that she had rinnegan, so I'm confused

I was thinking the exact same thing. Now we know the origin of the Byakugan: it was from Kaguya all along. She also had the Sharingan in a separate eye. Since the Indra had the Sharingan, it can be presumed that Hagoromo got the genes that included the Sharingan as well. This leaves the Byakugan to possibly be inherited by Kaguya's other son.

Basically all this means is that the Hyuga are descendants of Hagoromo's brother while the Senju and the Uchiha are descendants of Hagoromo himself (via Ashura and Indra respectively).
In the grand scheme of the plot, this doesn't really mean much for the Hyuga. The only fun fact is that most (if not all) of Kaguya's power and descendants somehow all ended up in Konoha, making it the most potentially powerful hidden village ever.

rinnegan might be an evolved version of byakugan and Sharingan.
