The Juubi was only sealed in Hagoromo. Sealing it in both of them was a mistranslation.

No, Hogoromo's brother had half of the Juubi's chakra sealed inside of him before he died. I think it was said in one of the manga chapters. I guess when he did die, SO6P sealed that half of the Juubi inside of the moon, when he used Planetary Devastation to create the moon. His brother must've had the Byakugan which would explain where the Hyuuga clan came from. He died and his Will was carried on through his children.

I think that Hagoromos's brother did use the jutsu that sealed the juubi within Hagoromo, and died afterwards. I think that his decendants include the Uzumaki(skilled in sealing jutsu) but it's all speculation since we have literally no information about him.

I've never really payed much attention to the viz scans, apart from clarifications, but that suggests Kaguya was Dead (Or part of the Juubi) by that time.

The Viz scans help clarify things quite often. Even the mangapanda translations said "To repent for our mothers sins" Which insinuates that she was already dead by time they fought the Juubi.

Or inside the Juubi if you believe that she was absorbed by it or whatever. (Which I think might be true after seeing this

That's an interesting point, the fact that the Senju and Uzumaki clans are distant relatives could mean that the Uchiha and Senju descended from the Sage of 6 paths, while the Uzumaki and Hyuga clans descended from his brother making the distant relatives thing make a lot more sense. And yeah, I don't think his brother died from that battle, as it was stated that the 10 tails was sealed in both of them.
