Senjutsu is the only thing that can defeat the Shinju, Kaguya and the JJ users. Taijutsu works but not to the extent of Senjutsu. Considering Hagoromo knew Gamamaru I would assume Senjutsu originated in Myobokuzan and then spread out to places like the Shikokotsu Forest or the place where the Snake Sage resides. Senjutsu is definetely older than Kaguya and might have originated from that fruit she ate and then spread out to Myobokuzan since they use Senjutsu a lot.

As for hago senjutsu, it's probably not. Neither hago, Madara, obito, or naruto when using RSM show signs of toad senjutsu. Hago senjutsu is most likely different or more powerful than the others.

And there is nothing known about slug sage mode ....at all.

So you have nothing to compare it to.
