Nauto and Sasuke had to have had the sages Chakra before Madara half killed them, because it's the only way they could have met him. Sure, they wouldn't be able to use it themselves, but he would still have been able to meet him, tell them "that guy with the staff's weakness is senjutsu, and why don't you take these power ups while you're at it."
