"we all know Naruto isn't the smartest person".. Well he wasn't the one who couldn't make up his mind on what do in his life now was he.


1. HE was already dead.

2. He had a back-up plan, just like he had a back up plan for summoning them from the dimensions.

3. He knew Naruto Uzumaki would stop him. There was no chance of Sasuke succeeding, unless Naruto died of some disease.

4. He protected the humans , and thats all that matters. Plus, Hagoromo would've proceeded to kick their asses himself.

In the following I will list facts and show you the reason why Hagoromo is kinda... "stupid".
Fact 1.)Indra's fate.

Hagoromo didn't notice how Indra started to walk into the path of darkness and hatred after entrusting his Son Ashura the Ninshuu. On the other hand Black Zetsu did and used his chance to manipulate Indra.

Fact 2.)Sealing Madara.

Spoiler

Inorder to defeat Madara, Hagoromo gave Naruto and Sasuke both seals. But the Seals were actually causing a gigantic Chibaku Tensei, which actually turned to a second moon. A moon sized CT could have destroyed the earth or at least would have killed almost everyone on the battlefield.

Fact 3.)Sasuke's fate.

While knowing that Indra turned out to be evil because he didn't received any power, Hagoromo decided to do the opposite and give Indra's Transmigrant power. It turned out to change nothing at all and if Sasuke succeeded with his plan the whole would have been under the lead of a dictator.

Fact 4.)Kaguya's Nemesis

So Hagoromo,confused about his Mother's behavior after eating the fruit, decided to stop his Mother from creating an army without questioning about her intentions. Recently the Otosukis still existed during that time and two of them were having war with Kagyua, so Hagoromo's actions on stopping his mom were a bit thoughtless and hasty.

Well, for 1--didn't he choose Ashura as his successor on his death bed? Either while he was bedridden for months or just before dieing...He was probably gone by the time Bz manipulated Indra.

2--Is weird...

3--Hagoromo didn't think Indra was evil...at one point he mentioned that maybe the world wanted Indra/Kaguya's way(forgot which) Think Kishi was trying to portray him as neutral with good intentions.

4--well, he took an absolute power corrupts absolutely stance.

1. After Hagoromo rejected Indra as the successor of Ninshu BZ noticed Indra's change and then Indra started to be evil, Hagromo on the other hand didn't notice shit. :lol
2. Sakura wasn't in IT 99% on the other hand was, they couldn't protect themselves.
3. But Plot made Hagoromo making the mistake, which is still a mistake on Hagoromo's part You can't justify an action just because of Plot, because everything is Plot.

1. Black zetsu is what made indra want to go to war with ashura, Indra didn't do it on his own. Hagoromo was dead before that time iirc he was on his deathbed when he chose his successor.
2. True but madara uplifted the entire frost country with no casualties apparently

The closest people to the CT site were rock lee & gaara but they were quite far.
Six paths CT seems to create big crater but it seems to take all the necessary rock it needs from whatever rocks in the crater.

3. I wasn't really being serious with that pnj thing but like i said hagoromo wanted to make it up for indra/ sasuke and the sage knew he could leave it up to naruto. Since he tnj befriended kurama who hated humans and such.
