If you love your parent you'd do anything to bring them back
No. Love doesn't dictate selfishness.
Bringing them back, for my own benefit would be selfish.
Bringing them back, for their own (nefarious) benefit would be foolish.
Love isn't measured by how many people you're willing to kill in their name, that isn't love - it's stupidity. Sounds a bit like the Holy Crusade here, in
His name I will slaughter your people...
How many have died - on either side - because it (war/genocide/murder) was done in the name of "love". Love for God, love for their King or Queen, love for their Country... love for oil?
Bleh.
It doesn't make it
right. It's basically throwing away your ability to judge the situation for yourself, clinging on to an ideal that a this "love" somehow makes it okay, or absolves you of your own actions.
Which is bullshit, of course. It doesn't justify it at all.
Ex: Tsunade
loved Dan and her brother, but she was
not willing to do
anything (like restore Orochimaru) to bring them back.
