I don't think so. Even with his eye, Deidara fell for genjutsu a couple of times I think. Itachi is not the same as Sasuke, as soon as he would have got Deidara in a genjutsu it would have been over there, and Itachi is a hell of a lot better at genjutsu than Sasuke IMO.

Itachi managed to trap him within genjutsu within moments of their first fight, and nearly caused Deidara to blow himself up.

Nonetheless, Itachi could probably tank the explosions with Susano'o.
