The Hōzuki clan (鬼灯一族, Hōzuki Ichizoku) is a group of ninja that settled in Kirigakure after the ending of the Warring States Period. Members of this clan have the ability to turn their bodies into liquefied form through the use of the Hydrification Technique (Suika no Jutsu). Their liquid form resembles more a thick and oily fluid rather than water. A formerly powerful clan within Kirigakure, it has produced multiple noteworthy individuals, including: Second Mizukage, Gengetsu Hōzuki, and Seven Swordsmen of the Mist members, the Mangetsu and Suigetsu.

- All Hōzuki clan members are capable of using Sourceless Specialty as a Bonus Specialty, using water without a water source for all techniques A-rank and below.
- All Hōzuki clan members can perform the Hydrification Technique.
- When the Hydrification Technique is in use, Hōzuki clan members can use their bodies as a source for Water Release techniques that reach up to and including mid-range.
- Hozuki gain an increase of +1 Bonus MIND AP ( towards Water Release specifically ) unless they are using Dual Abilities, in which case the ability with the highest AP boosts will apply.
Restrictions:
- Can be made at any rank.
- Requires Water Release to make a custom Hōzuki clan member bio.
- Counts as a Hidden Ability.
- For Gengetsu Hōzuki (Second Mizukage), specific rules apply.
- For Suigetsu and Mangetsu Hōzuki, specific rules apply.
