Gyomei is a hulking figure, standing as one of the tallest easily towering over his fellow Hashira. He is a powerfully built, extremely muscular man, with a slightly tanned skin tone. He has a medium, spiky, black hair that is shaved along the sides of his head and a prominent scar running horizontally across his forehead. Having been born with the Byakugan, he has white eyes with no visible irises or pupils. His eyes frequently tear-up when he gets emotional. Gyomei wears a standard black uniform. His uniform consists of a button-up jacket with a stand-up collar and long sleeves, featuring gold buttons, a left breast pocket, and the kanji for Destroy (Metsu) engraved on the back of the uniform. However, Gyomei’s jacket is heavily customized; it is worn with only the last button fastened, and the sleeves of his jacket and undershirt rolled up. His uniform is secured at the waist with the standard white belt and paired of matching tattsuke-hakama pants. Beneath the uniform, he wears a purple kimono, complete with a prominent white yuban collar. Around his lower legs, he wears a white bandages wrapped around his shins in place of traditional kyahan. For footwear, Gyomei wears white zōri sandals with gray straps, notably without tabi socks. Draped over his shoulders is a distinct olive-green happi, which features religious iconography. The collared frame of the happi bears the kanji for the Nianfo/Shin Buddha chant (Namu Amida Butsu) from the top-down, along with the separate kanji all over at the back. Around his neck, he sports a large red-beaded necklace and carries a set of red ojuzu beads when not in battle.
During his time as a monk and caretaker, Gyomei wore a similar hairstyle to his current appearance. His simple attire consisted of a olive green yukata and pants, tied with a lighter green sash. Physically, he was noticeably shorter and slimmer due to malnutrition brought on by his unfavourable living situation and his own willingness to go hungry and let the children he cared for eat instead. He sustained his signature scar from a demon attack during this period. He sustains a scar across his forehead after being slashed by a crescent moon blade from a demon.

Gyomei is a gentle, soft-spoken, and deeply pious man whose quiet nature contrasts sharply with his imposing appearance. Sensitive and easily moved to tears, he carries profound compassion for all living things, shaped by a painful past and his spiritual upbringing. Though reserved and cautious toward others at first, once he places his trust in someone, his loyalty is unwavering. Among the Hashira, he is respected as a symbol of strength, stability, and moral integrity—someone whose presence alone brings reassurance. Gyomei holds firm, dignified values, believing that true strength lies in humanity, sacrifice, and perseverance, and he rejects any shortcuts that compromise those ideals. Despite his stoic exterior, he cares deeply for his comrades and often guides them with calm authority, empathy, and steadfast resolve.

The Chronicle of Gyomei Himejima
The Stone Who Sees Through All Things
They say the earth remembers.
Every tremor beneath the Land of Fire carries the weight of old stories carved into stone, and among those murmurs shared by monks and travelers, one name rolls through the valleys like distant thunder: Gyomei of the Ember Monastery, the Earthbound Sentinel.
When Gyomei was young, the earth took everything from him.
The orphanage he lived in stood near the volcanic cliffs of the Firelands, where glowing magma veins warmed the ground. One night, a creature marked with twisted summoning seals emerged from a crack in the earth. Its chakra was wrong, its movements unnatural, as if controlled by a distant hand. Gyomei watched it descend upon the children with eyes that could see but hands that could not save.
When morning came, only he remained.
The villagers whispered that his grief had caused the ground to split. None believed his claim that the creature's markings pulsed like stolen jutsu. Their doubt settled on him like ash, heavy and cold.
The monks of the Ember Monastery took him in.
There he learned the Chakra Harmonization Arts, a discipline that sought balance between the turmoil of the world and the calm that lies beneath it. During his training, Gyomei awakened the ability that slept within his blood: the Byakugan, a gaze that could pierce stone, chakra, and deception alike.
He treated this gift not as power but as duty.
With it, he trained to sense the world not only with eyes but with breath and stillness. He listened to the pulse of the ground and the quiet shift of natural energy.
Under Master Gyoben, he learned to draw that energy through the earth. Through patience and devotion, Gyomei eventually entered Earth Sage Mode, a transformation in which the stability of stone blended with his own spirit. His footsteps grew resonant, his presence steady and immovable, like a pillar supporting the sky..
He forged his weapon during this time.
The chained Earthbreaker Flail and Axe became the echo of his will. Each swing carried the weight of cliffs. Each strike rang through the land like shifting plates of stone. Yet even with this strength, Gyomei remained gentle. He prayed for every life he protected and mourned every life he failed to save.
Now Gyomei walks the boundary between volcanic plains and quiet forests. He protects abandoned shrines, wandering merchants, hidden villages, and anyone who reaches for help. To many he is the Sage of Stone Paths. To others he is a giant with the gaze of a hawk and the heart of a monk.
But those who stand before him know the truth.
He is a warrior who sees all, yet judges little.
He is a guardian whose heart still breaks easily, yet he stands unshaken.
He is a protector molded not by blindness or fury, but by clarity of purpose.

❖ 白眼・転生眼 | Byakugan | Tenseigan Gyomei Himejima bears both the Byakugan and the Tenseigan. As an Ōtsutsuki, his lineage allows him to wield the Byakugan instinctively, activating its all-seeing perception without expending a move or conscious effort, as naturally as breathing. Through this divine ocular power, nothing escapes his sight, chakra pathways, distant presences, and hidden truths are all laid bare. The awakening of the Tenseigan elevates this further, granting Gyomei a transcendent clarity and celestial authority.
❖ 仙人モード極致 | Sage Mode Mastery | Mode Mastery (Monkey) The user is able to activate Sage Mode passively. Earned by default by those who choose the Mode Mastery path. Sage Master (Passive).
❖ 頂点手印の達人 | Apex Hand Seal Specialists | Fūinjutsu You can perform techniques of a skill specialized in without the usage of hand seals, though you must still perform complementary and logical body movements related to the technique. This applies even if said jutsu does not have specific movements detailed in its description. Does not require another Specialty to utilize.
❖ 単手印の達人 | Single Hand Seal Specialist | Earth You can perform techniques of the skill you chose to specialize in by performing a single ( 1 ) hand seal. This can be applied to various Ninjutsu fields and Elements.
❖ 心眼 | Mind’s Keen Eye | Genjutsu of any type, other than MS-level or those cast by Kunino, appear 'flawed.' This means that regardless of the caster's expertise or perfection, there will be some kind of tell within the illusion that is very obvious; such as a visual illusion appearing like static on a television, a smell being off, or a sound not making sense.
❖ チャクラ強化 | Chakra Fortification | Fūinjutsu The user can add an additional effective 10 Chakra or Siris to an element or skill they specialize in, though not at any increased cost or strain to the user. This simply allows their techniques to have 10 more chakra infused into them. Does not require another Specialty to utilize.
❖ 陽の達人 | Yang Specialist Users will gain heightened vitality translating to 800 chakra increase to their natural reserves. As well, they are immune to recoil damage from techniques that cause it like Forbidden, though they still succumb to the jutsu's other subscribed affects.
Note: Requires Yang and at least 5 in Body.

❖ 吸収腕 | Abusōbu Ude Gyomei’s right arm has been replaced with the Abusōbu Ude (吸収腕), a sleek, muscular cyborg limb that merges seamlessly with his imposing physique. Its surface is a dark, matte metal with subtle engraved patterns reminiscent of traditional armor, accented by faint chakra-conducting lines that pulse when in use. From the palm, spheres of concentrated energy can manifest and expand, capable of absorbing even the most potent chakra attacks while delivering devastating impact. Despite its mechanical nature, the arm retains a sense of weight and presence, reflecting Gyomei’s formidable strength and imposing aura, as if the limb itself were an extension of his indomitable will.
❖身体封印 | Body Seals Gyomei’s body is etched with intricate seals, each carved into his skin like living armor, channeling and regulating chakra with deadly precision. These marks glow faintly when his power awakens, a silent testament to his mastery over his own body.
