Sorry for the very late reply, have been pretty busy lately to post a training reply. xDBefore you finish that water bottle, put it on the ground with a bit left while you explain what you know about our clan. Mainly about Fishman Karate.
So, basically the FK revolves around using shockwaves that inflicts damage through taijutsu attacks, and the water or the air are nothing but mediums to transfer the shockwaves, however when water is combined with shockwaves it inflicts more damage due to the combination force of the shockwave and the impact of the water technique, and because humans' bodies consists of over 70 percent water, it inflicts even more damage internally. Is that correct? While it is true that Fishman Karate mixes both water and taijutsu for advanced water techniques, you missed a vital part. That being the propagation of shockwaves through water molecules scattered through the air. Which can't be seen by the naked eye. Further more, a couple of more trats can be made use of in combat.
The shockwaves naturally have a highly destructive power, that much is certain. Gyojin produce them through water molecules spread out through the air which also serves a medium to transport said shockwaves into farther distances, however at the same time, passing through the water molecules increases the damage of the shockwave greatly, thus humans and other beings made of water take high levels of damage from them. So in a sense, while the shockwave do not rely on water for strength, it does indeed matter when it comes to increasing it's damange. Because of this, if you shoot a shockwave through a water bullet located infront of you, the shockwave will gain destructive force. But overall it is highly possible that the unstable vibrations of the water molecules have a high role to play in the shockwaves.
The fact that we breath and swim underwater is an example of our combat skills, even while underwater. We still swim faster than any humans, akin to a transformed Kisame, and can go on forever without running out of breath. Further more, because Fishman Karate relies on water to propagate and increase the shockwaves, using FK underwater would make our techniques just as effective and in some cases also increase their power, depending on the technique. We can also, perform regular taijutsu underwater, as our mobility is not hindered, we are after all, fishmen. Although, keep in mind that using a taijutsu technique which uses fire would result in complete failure underwater, logic and reason still applies down there after all.
FK relies more than anything on shockwave enhancements, attacks, and defenses. Keeping that in mind, a shockwave doesn't have a chart in which we can know how it interacts with elements. Thus, it all depends on the technique used, however a regular FK Shockwave will most likely phase through elements like water, or otherwise be stopped by solid elements such as earth. The full interaction of elements and FK is not clear, as not even in OP has it happened, however i'll do my best to come into reason with this and let you know. Do know that there are FK techniques that can counter elemental projectiles with shockwaves though, so with that, we atleast know that shockwaves can come into contact and even repel ethereal or solid elemental techniques.
*takes a break from speaking and drinks some water*
So. Any questions?
Roger!Well, that isn't exactly the entire style summed up. But it'll do for now.
If you understood everything, attempt to release a shockwave forward and knock down that tree over there *points*. Use chakra and the water molecules around you to create and push said Shockwave forth.
You understand what the style is about young one. If such is your determination, let's begin your technique training. Split this lake in half using the same method, but focus on dispersing the shockwave sideways to cleave the waters apart right through the center.Roger!
Following his mentor's orders, Nero take a fighting stance with his left leg one foot behind and his right leg slightly in front of him meanwhile leaning on them in order to gain more balance. Having done that, Nero focuses decent amount of chakra into his right hand meanwhile gathering water molecules around his hand. Once focusing the required amount of chakra and gathering a decent amount of water molecules, Nero performs a basic thrust into the air with his right palm meanwhile releasing both his chakra and the water molecules that he gathered before, producing a decent shockwave that is aimed towards the tree which his mentor pointed at, causing the tree to be smashed upon impact.
Was that correct?

After summing up all I have done thus far, I believe that our shockwaves are produced when we perform a Taijutsu attack into the thin air, which compresses the air molecules that gets caught in our Taijutsu movement route, causing the air molecules to gather up, yet not to the degree that would make the air molecules turn into water, thus keeping the shockwave invisible. However, that is not all. Meanwhile we are compressing the air molecules, we user our water skills that no one else has got and gather water molecules. Having done that, we supply our shockwave with the required medium for it to transport and that medium is the water molecules themselves. The first batch of water molecules' only job is to transport the shockwave we produce to the rest of the water molecules in the air which continues to be the shockwave's medium until the impact, therefore, it is invisible for the naked eye that cannot differ things with chakra and things with no chakra.Hmm well done. Now that you've learned what Fishman Karate is about. What can you tell me about the shockwaves themselves, and what uses would you say they can be given, and to what limits. It's a simple review to make sure you understood the whole dynamics of the FK style.
Good assessment. Then if you've fully understood how this works, do try to recreate a shockwave using the water molecules spread infinitely through the air around us. Being both fast and invisible, the shockwaves could easily knock someone off balacne (that is for the low ranked techniques of the style) without him even knowing which gives the user an advantage in battles. I believe the only limit the Gyojin has is the technique itself. As long as the technique doesn't limit the Gyojin (with a specified power, specified range or specified usage), then the limit is the sky. The gyojin could also use the fact that the style doesn't produce any noise and attack the opponent from a blind spot.
Forgive me if I forgot or misunderstood anything.
Upon hearing his mentor's orders, Nero leans again on his legs with them slightly separated from each other in order to gain more balance. Meanwhile he is doing so, Nero gather water molecules that already exists in the thin air around him, forcing it to exist around his dominant hand. Having done so, Nero thrusts his right hand forward with a decent to high force. By doing so, Nero applies the right force into the air which the water molecules gathered around his hand acts as the right medium for it till it reaches the water molecules existing in the the air that would conclude conducting it until it reaches it's target, which in that case is none. It is just aimed to an open area where it would keep going until it hits something or someone.Good assessment. As you do that, also try and mention the various applications we can give these shockwaves that form Fishman Karate. Their applications and limits.
Not too shabby for a beginning Kin. It seems you've understood the basic concepts of Fishman Karate. So moving on..split this lake in half, cleave it right down the middle, Nero.Upon hearing his mentor's orders, Nero leans again on his legs with them slightly separated from each other in order to gain more balance. I really don't know any application aside from knocking someone/something off balance while inflicting damage, being invisible which we could use to attack the opponent from a blind spot and he wouldn't know our location and splitting water sources. I believe it is effective too when in comes to fighting underwater.
Sorry for my short knowledge in this area and my later replay. College has been crazy for me.![]()

Nero regains his fighting position as gathers a decent amount of chakra into his right hand as well as gathering water molecules around it. Once done, Nero aims his palm towards the fireball as he shifts his upper body slightly to his left in order to get the perfect angle for shooting. As he reaches the angle he desires, Nero thrusts the shockwave from his right palm which would travel through water molecules and as it reaches the fireball it would hit it from an angle, therefore it would slap it away to the Nero's left.Fine job. Next, we'll use the shockwaves defensively. I want you to visualize yourself creating a shockwave from your palm and having it physically clash with the fireball I will launch torwards you. Use the shockwave's force and momentum to "slap" away the fireball to either side, thereby saving yourself from being burned alive.
Do not spare any detail and keep in control of the shockwave emission.
*does a few handseals and spits out a B rank fireball of medium size at you*
Well done. As for the question, it's not possible to throw back the technique at the original user. Atleast not with this version of block, an advanced CCJ would do the trick however. And shockwaves are invisble, given not even water molecules can be seen. So there is no mist when using Fishman Karate.Nero regains his fighting position as gathers a decent amount of chakra into his right hand as well as gathering water molecules around it. Question: If I had a bigger shockwave (the same size of the fireball or even bigger) would it send the fireball back along side with the shockwave? And just to make sure, it wouldn't create any mist, right? Since the water molecules are merely a medium.
