I knew guy would make it as soon as Naruto pulled up to the scene... lets look at the damage of the eight gates and how it relates to sasuke and narutos powerups...

1st off gai activates his hearts pressure point making chakara rush to his heart at the end of the gates however his chakara fades and we all know chakara = lifeforce


During the 8 gates the body is being constantly harmed on extreme levels blood vapor leaves your body and your skin incinerates at the end you body is unrepairable and charred

So hears the deal the eight gates kills you in 2 ways it destroys your body completely hence guys foot turning to ash and his leg shattering...and it takes all your chakara away thus snuffing out your life force under normal circumstance no healing can save you ....

But sasuke has the power to make guys body whole Naruto has the power to breath life into guy kishimoto knew what he was doing when this started guy will not die

Naruto and sasuke have been given the power of plot the 8th gate is absolutely suicidal none can survive that type of damage on normal circumstances PS ppl hav thought of this but its been vague explanations

I think you are forgetting that nobody dies in naruto. What, one person out of every characters we have ever known has died and thats neji. don't hold your breath for rules and common sense to pal a roll in this anime now.
