I can see this happening. But you are going to get flamed by people who insist Naruto just prolonged his life to say his goodbyes which doesn't seem likely to me. Your theory makes more sense to me as Gai already said his goodbyes when he opened the 8th gate.

Not for Eighth Gate. Which is exactly what you said in my thread about not being surprised by this development; that the Celestial Gates are absolute. This is excellent imo, a pizza worth ordering.

Guy is one of my favs but I always considered using the 8th Gate of "Death" was an absolute rule, no matter what. Thats the meaning of "absolute" that its set and cannot be changed,even with divine power

with the ability to breath life into anything(think muki tensei), and the ability to create anything(think trollkage;s genjutsu or izanagi) you should know nothing is impossible or absolute
