Also I think it's time for him to use the 8th Inner Gate....

OT: I think it may happen. It's very very probable. It would fit in well....especially with Obito being a childhood friend and all, Gai's death can make Kakashi realize once and for all just how far his ex teammate has fallen

Or perhaps each team has to lose someone. Naruto's team lost Sasuke, and Naruto also lost Jiraya (and Sakura may lose Tsunade). Shikamaru's team lost Asuma, and now their fathers. Team Guy just lost Neji. Now it's team Kurenai's turn... Best guess is Kiba and/or Shino's dad (since Shino is his clan's leader's heir, and Hinata is protected by plot no jutsu).
