that scan is referring to how guy can watch the reflection of itachi in the water to fight, so he doesnt have to look in his eyes. it even says the "using the reflection" what reflects? water. on land this wouldnt even work the ground doesnt reflect.

How is he not immune but he is not getting caught? What is his defense to genjutsu tha affects by touch? What is his defense to genjutsu that affects by senses? He has no defense for it, he is perfectly able to be caught in genjutsu. The truth is he never faced anyone great at genjutsu like Itachi. Gai's whole feet watching shit was based on his defense to Kakashi and his sharingan, Itachi > Kakashi in visual prowess and skill with the sharingan and its abilties and up until these last few chapters Kakashi > Gai so that whole feet watching shit never got Gai ahead of kakahi.

Also Hashirama's Bringer of Darkness genjutsu would affect him also.
