People say that madara wasn't trying and he was tested guys power.if this were true how come every attack he defended himself against and was overwhelmed kishi knew 8gates guy was too op to put in early manga


Okay this is what I mean on how he could've won

1.night elephant hit him 300ml in the ground this was suppose to be a continuas attack., madara said he'd be in trouble if he were to kept getting hit. Gai stopes the tech due to extreme pain so madara flew out of the new crater
This is what saved him from death of the earths CORE!!!witch the night elephant planned to do continues of deep ground hits

2.night moth was supposed to hit him directly all the way to god tree but no Gais leg broken up befor the actual intended impact
Instead guy feel to the ground and madara smacked the tree from force of the kick minimizing the intended damage
Allowing madara to survive (you almost killed me) these arent the second time gai mad madara say this I can safely assume madara was fighting back

Guy would never ever ever ever ever win that fight on his own. With all those people there, sure he had a shot.

The most important thing to note is that, at the point guy used 8th gate, madara was basically left without omnyoudon defence. He had 1/6 black balls left which wasn't enough to defend his ass properly. Madara was mostly a sitting duck tanking attacks... Don't ask me why he didn't limbo guy, use susano'o, summon juubi or w.e because i don't know.

Yeah, of course he could have won. Madara outright said that it was the "fates" that allowed him to live. Had the attack hit Madara a few inches more to the left, it would probably not have been possible to regenerate. Keep in mind that Gai started the 8th gate battle with a broken arm and broken ribs, not to mention extreme exhaustion after prolonged fighting in the war.

8th gate Gai is going down as the most powerful fighter who ever lived, with the only people eclipsing him are the two protagonists (and of course Indra / Ashura / Hagoromo and his mom, etc).
