[Discussion] Gurren lagann??????

[Alpha Q up]

Ok so i just finished watching Gurren Lagann, and it was awesome show but two things bug me. One is that i really thought simon and yoko were gonna end up together but they didn't. Also i don't know if its me or did the ending happen really fast like. Oh hey my wife just vanished in front of my eyes umm i guess i'll just walk away now and leave everyone. lmaoo idk i guess :dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno:

Simon and Yoko was the 'he thought she liked him but in reality she didn't' situation (I think it was admitted somewhere in the series she began to have feelings for him, but but by that point Simon had moved on). Also when Nia was brought into the series it destroyed any chance Yoko and Simon would get together.

Tbh the reason it ended like that was because it was more of a message. Simon was practically saying he isn't a leader, he isn't a solider or a hero, he is just Simon the digger. Everything that transpired was because he had Lagann and his drill necklace, soon as he gave them up he was no one again. He left because he had no reason to stay and most likely wanted to find a life that suited him.
