Ok so Im about to finish code geass and it's made me want to watch an good anime about mecha
I used to watch gundam when I was like 10 but I forgot which series I watched, so my question is which series should I start with? Do the series run into each other? Do I have to watch the first series to understand the 2nd 3rd and so on?

Vandread- 26 Episodes or so but it's pretty awesome.

Gurren Lagann (also known as tengen toppa)- This one is more than badass. Tho the first 7 episodes are pretty lame, the rest of the anime is awesome.

Gantz- It's about a black ball in a empty room if people die they go in this room than they are given weapons (mecha) etc. Also nice to watch, i'd advice you the dubbed version.

well all the gundam series is not related, except gundam seed and gundam seed destiny

if u want to watch gundam then i suggest to watch gundam seed and seed destiny and also gundam 00, after all the gundam series is the best when it comes to mecha anime

Lol I know, right? It was probably the first one, as I remember the graphics being similar to dbz and yuyu hakusho and those two arent exactly new.

the anime u are referring to is G GUNDAM, im 100% sure.

there are quite a few gundam series. Mobile Suit Gundam was the original and than Zeta Gundam, ZZ gundam etc etc

those are more for hardcore gundams because they focus less on the mechs and more on the relationships of the people fighting.

If you've never seen Gundam or its been a while, I'd start with Gundam Seed, Gundam 00 or Gundam Wing as they are their own original stories with Seed being the only one that has a sequel. Avoid watching G Gundam first because it doesn't follow the traditional mech system, its not bad but its not one of the best.

my favorite is Seed, followed closely by OO.

Shinn was way too whiny to be taken seriously and they forced his skills on us, especially on the second half of destiny

yeah especially when he pawn freedom with dirty tactics, that's totally pissed me off, thank god athrun show him whose the boss in the final fight

well i wouldn't say dirty as he took advantage of Kira only aiming for the arms or heads of the suits in an attempt to not kill the pilots. Plus I don't think the Destiny Gundam was stronger than the original Freedom, the only thing the Destiny had was the Wings of Light and that didn't really make him faster than the Strike Freedom or Infinite Justice.

The one thing I wish Destiny had that was shown in Seed Stargazer was the Strike E gundam.
