I know we haven't got many hints yet but I want to see what other people believe he is at the moment. Do you think he is a traitor? A double agent helping both the shinigami and Quincy so that he can kill Bach, or a spy purely helping just the Shinigami?

I think in the end he will betray the quincies. He's shown signs that he actually cares about Orihime, Chad, and surprisingly, Ichigo.

I think that he is the final villan, you know like we all thought sasuke was going to be until his confusing announcement. I think Ichigo will either bring him to the brink of death and he will realize his faults before he dies or he will be persuaded to have a change of heart.

I see most people think that he's a spy or double agent. My guess is that Uryu is really a spy who was intending to kill Bach when his back was turned. But Bach suspected this from the beginning and nominated Uryu as the successor so that the stern ritters will keep a close eye on him.

Didnt bleach go on like a three month hiatus but yeah most likely would happen he would betray him for his friends. This would be a perfect chance for Naruto and One Piece to steal bleach fans

Uryuu = Gin.

Gonna backstab Yhwach for his Mother's death; and then attempt to lead the Quincies the right way.

For the people saying he'll avenge his mother. Tell me why he'd do that. Cause I'll explain why he won't.

Uryu is a "proud Quincy". And Yhwack is his King. Yhwack killed his mother for the good of the Quincy (to get back his power). So if Uryu intends to kill Yhwack for that, then Kubo has just destroyed his development. "On my Qiuncy pride I'll do this!" "On the pride oif the Quincy's I'll do that!" Get the gist? What Yhwack did was for the benefit of the Quincy's. Meaning, Uryu should not have bad intention against him.

Hence why I think in order for his character development to reach its peak, Uryu should be the FV. And IMO, there's a 30% chance of that happening.

Juha Bach is no fool, it's obvious he suspects "something" from Ishida whether he has yet to determine what Ishida is planning has yet to be said, but it's also obvious Ishida is suspect which is why he has set up precautions to make sure Ishida "Stays in line". Point is Ishida is most likely planning "something" but because all eyes are on him he is unable to act, and may very well assimilate into vanderiech without even knowing and then he might just become the final villain......... But that's a long shot, most likely he'll find a way to betray Juha Bach and Juha Bach will just pretend not to notice until Ishida attempts implement his "plan" and then Juha Bach will explain in some conveluted way how he knew Ishida would attempt to betray him and will try to either kill Ishida or make him reconsider, and then after that point it will be up to Ishida or rather Kubo.

And if that's his intentions, then he doesn't deserve to call himself a true Quincy + he should never again say anything related to the "Quincy pride".

That's not necessarily true Quincy pride has nothing to do with the vandenreich. I say this because it was his grandfather who taught uryuu and his way of Quincy pride, and we know that his grandfather wanted nothing to do with juha.

And why is that? The Vandenreich don't represent every Quincy out there. He could still retain his own Quincy pride apart from that of the Vandenreich.

Exactly.

Ishida's Quincy pride doesn't come from the Vandenreich. It comes from his grandfather.

Ok, fair enough.. I understand what you're both saying but nonetheless, what Yhwach did (the Holy Selection) which lead to Uryu's mum dying isn't suffice grounds for him to take revenge on Yhwach since what he did was for the good of the Quincy.

And what does that matter to Uryuu? Why should Uryuu care if it was "for the good of the Quincy"?

Like I said, Uryuu's pride has nothing to do with Juha Bach or the Quincys as a whole. It has to do with the teachings that were passed down by his grandfather. And as Roju already mentioned, Uryuu's grandfather wanted nothing to do with Juha Bach. It's clear that his teachings differed from that of the Vandenreich.

Long story short: Just because you're a Quincy doesn't mean you have to be loyal to the Vandenreich.

Well his father is the one who inherited all of his grandfathers power or some crap so really he is the boss and if it is an order frm Ryuken then that would make sense. We have seen how there relationship works so having his son infiltrate the dealer's to find the suppliers (love that analogy) to get revenge or find peace for a means of an ends.
