It's a dumb question but it wouldn't hurt to ask anyways can you make a group that can be viewed by the public like guests but still only have discussion for the group members only?
I and a few others are fixing to make a debate tourney.

Yes, you may. "Users must join to view the content" must not be checked under group options.​
