Ennio Morricone is awesome but his greatest soundtracks are from TV; not movies.

To be frank, I know that I've left countless numbers of greats. Just to state some few - Maurice Jarre, John Barry, Thomas Newman, Nino Rota, Elmer Bernstein, Danny Elfman, Harry Gregson-Williams, James Newton Howard, Max Steiner ect...

As I said, I didn't cite all those names because in my opinion, if there gotta be a No.1, then it's surely one of those 4. Don't get wrong - I'm a big admirer of quite a number of those but it's just that I don't see any of them as No.1!

Now if you consider me wrong, then post a Top 5/10/20 of your own.

James Horner is my absolute favorite. I'm a big fan of Titanic (both the ship and movie :p) and his music brings that movie to life. Even though most of Titanic consists of sad instrumentals, there are some of those uplifting songs in the soundtrack like this one:

To say the truth, I can barely decide which one is better out of these 4. They produce so many gems.

I agree with Titanic. In fact, my favorite Titanic moment is the moment when the Ship is drowning and those person keep playing the violins. That was something... And well, how can someone forget the soundtrack of Titanic?
