I don't think he ever saw the Uchiha Tablet before, and god knows alone how he read it. But what seems to be more plausible is the teachings of the Great Toad Sage. He knows about the Rinnegan and the story (well not everything) of Rikudou

He must have been VERY old indeed, seeing how Fukusaku is merely 800 years old.

So the Great Toad Sage, judging the looks between him and Fukusaka, he must been est. 2000-3000 years old. He was there all along, he was even there when Shinju blossomed its fruit once every 1000 years.
Its a bet he was Rikudou Sennin's summoning pet , since Senjutsu works only against Senjutsu.
And perhaps Rikudou was a student of the Great Sage too.


Also the fact he shows great and vast knowledge of senjutsu, and seeing how Shinju is the origin of all chakra and is senjutsu based really tells us the old geezer toad lived during the decade of Shinju.

Proof Toads Was Guardians To Rikudou Sennin, and Uzumaki Clan​

I think the scan where the jutsu was used on Kurama was used before on the Ten Tails. It was originally not meant to check Kurama as all the nine beasts are on good terms with the Sage.

Naruto's seal of the 9tails is Minato's making based on jutsus from the Umamaki clan like kushina said!
Kurama said it was Rikudo's seal when naruto sealed him again after winning him to attain KCM !

not really this theory is more plausible. dont see anything to connect katsuyu to the sage

Maybe just maybe hes older then the rikudo. And since jairaya knew from the toad that the senin was traveling spreading his wisdom. They actually met for a short period of time. And maybe he left him with the knowledge for ninjas to summon them.. And he maybe also did that with all the first's summonings of the beasts.
