If u like a book or books with great story but a darkness to it then read Terra incognita books By Kevin James Anderson
These books are great good story but also lots of violence its a war between to sides the Aidenists and the Urabecs and throughout the book u can't really root for either side unless u want to cause both sides do enormous acts of evil that they try to justify
there is also another group called Saedens they are neutral

Book 2. Map of All Things
Book 3. Key to Creation
the ending blew my mind
there wil be characters u love ones u hate others u feel sorry for i tell u this naruto's TNJ would not work in this world
