I don't need to have better art to judge a art. We all have different professions. A manga artist isn't mine so why should I try to improve my art in order to judge another art?

The issue is that this new artist is taking on another artist's work. If this artist was not continuing such a popular manga then we wouldn't judge the art so badly...but this guy is messing up extremely beloved characters. Characters that already have certain personality traits and designs set in place. Boruto just looks really bad for a main character. Out of everyone Boruto should have been drawn the best. His whole design looks really childish, especially with that outfit he has on now. And Sarada's look is not reflecting her personality at all. It's very clearly fan service...If anything we have a right to be annoyed about the fan service.

I'll give the artist another chance when I see the first monthly manga. I hope the story is still good regardless..but these aren't good signs.

Really?Those draws don't hurt your eyes?Nothing is good, the shape, the scale, the colouring, the colors themselves.And it's a very simple draw without details.Look at the clouds, a 5 year old kid can do better, the city could easily be made by a 10 years old child.
Don't you feel like he coloured the draws with old felt pens?Focus on Mitsuki's ass to understand.
Should we launch a donation to buy him new felt pens to colour the announcement of a multi million dollar manga?

What?.. That's the anime. It has nothing to do with anything. And almost all of those images are frame shots of moving images. It's like taking a picture of someone mid sneeze. Of course it's not going to look pretty if you capture a small part of a composition. Most of those scenes were animated well.

Actually I didn't read initial chapters till years later.. as I followed manga only after i caught up with anime.. >_> <_<

And I can draw a line...

And I still don't think think Boruto's art is good. If not for his design ( the attire and the whiskers) I would think it was a new character. Shape of his face, eyes and mouth and their proportion everything is different and it gives a feeling of a fan art mature at the moment. I have seen dounjinshies published on DA that look more original. So of course currently I am not too happy with that image we are seeing.

Saying that well it's a new artist and copying an older artist may not take him too far. It also may not feasible for him to do it on regular basis, so he maybe trying to keep his own style. But we are spoiled with better drawn characters for years. So unless he has something really interesting to add to the verse he is going to be blamed for dragging it down with his art, on top of everything.

You keep posting anime content as if that's relevant to this thread. One, That animation style was an abstract attempt to represent Naruto from a different perspective, particularly one with fast-paced movement. You taking it at face value only shows your lack of enlightenment. Two, it's anime and has nothing to do with my initial point.

I didn't start reading the manga until around the war arc. What I meant was that we've all obviously seen early art from Kishimoto, and when we do see it, we don't call it bad because it's different from how it is now. What if Kishimoto never actually got better art-wise? We wouldn't have a problem with the art.

I agree totally with your opinion. I'm not fond of the art either. Several problems with anatomy, structure, and foreshortening compared to Kishimoto who excels in those techniques. But there's a difference from actual criticism, like yours, and trivial remarks like "the art is bad because Boruto's face looks fat." If you're going to have a reason it should be valid is all I'm saying.

Here we are talking about one draw that took at least 19 days to create.And it's a somewhat important draw for the future of the manga.
