GOT cersei band wagoners

Last season I found everyone who jumped on the I love cersei and hate the sparrows rather pathetic

Up till this season lean heady played cersei well but her character like in the books was hated very much alongside Ramsay olly and Joffery

She had fans I admit that but no one was in her side at all until the day the sparrows showed up

And all of a sudden after her walk of shame there is all these we lover cersei people popping up booing the sparrows who honestly haven't done much to get hated on unless because you were a Lora's fan and got overheated that they persecuted him for being gay which was Hbo doing since in the book Loras is a Kingsguard and sworn off love and lust from any other men

And as known and pointed out by grandma tyrell it's all cerseis fault this happened and it is her fault she acted like a child against Margaery and as tyrion and baelish have said cersei sucks at playing the game of thrones

But after her walk of shame in which she rightfully deserved/earned large amounts of sympathy towards her they act like she didn't have this coming

They get all smug when she imprisons the septa lady and leaves her to get tortured and possibly raped by clegane while all cersei suffered was being woken up demanded to confess a few light smacks no fancy clothes and a cell

Bah!


And the most messed up part is Hbo is going to pull a lot of BS for the battle with her against Dany despite dany having the extreme advantage

You're not really accurate on several points though. In the books we regularly can read what characters are thinking, while in the series we can only hear what they say. The Cersei of season 6 is similar to the Cersei of the books, however because we don't know what she thinks throughout most of the series, the true Cersei has only become recognizable during the past season. You can't really blame people who only watch the show for having a change of heart.

And religious fanatics are rarely popular, so it's an almost automatic reaction to support the one who is going against them. On a similar note psychopathic characters are often popular, their irrationality and I-don't-give-a-damn attitude is something that charms people and what's more irrational than just blowing all your problems up? So yeah I can imagine that Cersei's popularity gained a sudden boost, but stuff like that is common as it indicates that the character underwent development. At the start of GoT I just wished that Jaime died a horribly death because he pushed Bran out of a window, but now I think he's one of the best, most developed characters of the show.

Cersei indeed screwed up hell of a lot of times and it's a small miracle that she's still alive. If she had been a man, no doubt she would have died years ago, however in the end she is still very well the one who is now sitting on the Iron Throne. With most characters their mistakes led to their own demise, but in the case of Cersei, directly or indirectly, it led to everyone being purged around her. Unlike most other characters that died though, when she dies there will be nothing remaining. Eddard had his family and the support of the North, Tywin had his children and House Lannister etc. Cersei however has no one. I might be wrong about this, but outside the very first episodes of the series when she went to Winterfell, I don't think she has ever left King's Landing and barely the Red Keep. She was protected around the clock and whenever there was immediate danger, it went for more significant people like Joffrey or Tywin. On one of the rare instances she was unguarded, she got held hostage by the Faith Militant. So you could say that in a weird way her ineptitude was the thing that somehow made her get this far.

You know as well as I do though that there are no certainties in GoT and that rarely something is black and white. There are always unexpected twists and unforeseen circumstances, so I wouldn't call it BS when Cersei and Dany duke it out and the latter can't immediately achieve a total victory as that's way too simplistic. Jon, Euron, Littlefinger...the situation is far more complicated than just Cersei and Dany having one battle on an open field. Dany has a huge army, but I wouldn't call a combination of hundreds of thousands Dothraki, Ironborn raiders, Tyrell and Martel forces the most perfect well-tuned army.

Dude she's like Danzo. The guy/girl you love to hate. She's a terrible person. No one is disputing that. But it was brutally awesome how she dealt with the mess she made. It cost her her last 2 children too. She, like Danzo, does what she does for the "good" of her family. Which are now mostly dead. Now she sits on the iron throne. Good luck Cersi. Tenure on the throne seems to end pretty tragically.

True he is. But you're missing the point. I'm not comparing their personality but their actions and why they do the things they do. She is the same as Tywin when it comes to family and crown...even more so. At least Tywin tries to do things diplomatically before using force. Cersi will kill everyone and anyone who either doesn't agree with her views or threaten her family.
