Not true. Kabuto has to release the jutsu. If he dies, then the zombies are still active.

I'm pretty sure I saw Nagato getting stabbed with Totsuka. Plus, its not like Nagato would resist his fate if he had to choose between being misused as a zombie or to be sealed to end his disgraceful return.

No he wouldn't. He dispalyed a marked resignation and wanted to hand over the torch since long. He never wanted to lead but became a reluctant leader to fullfill Yahiko's dream. He took the first opprtunity and handed it over to Naruto without hesitation while sacrifycing himself to get his own peace.

The reason nagato had to be sealed is that kishimoto cant leave an overpowered character like nagato in the manga because then it will derive attention off of naruto sasuke etc. nagato is ofcourse stronger than itachi but the fact that kabuto controlled nagato he was weaker. in my opinion it was a story telling fail of kishimoto to let nagato go this way if you can see through all the fan bias you actually see that kishi needed to get rid of nagato and didnt want to make a big deal of that. he was being lazy but lots of manga writers and film makers do that.

at least we still have itachi because i also luv itachi as well as nagato just a shame that kishi got rid of nagato in such a lame way we could have something epic like naruto vs pain but no -.-

I agree with the thread we should wait to see what kabuto does nagato is too important for him to lose and he was pretty confident he could take on itachi bee and naruto. lets just see what happens...

And as long as the soul of the character resides in the Pure World then that character can be summoned.

I think your basically right about that. Plus the jutsu can be ended by ET user using certain hand seals and I'm assuming their bodies would return to the Pure world as well

Yeah, so I guess as long as the Edo Tensei hasn't been defeated then it can be resummoned.
