more than anything iron sand is the reason 3rd was considered by far the strongest kazekage ever. he created it from his KG, magnet release and enables him to form any shape he wants or use it to clog up puppet joints. hes capable of producing this much

so i did some research on the net. i found that iron sand's real name is magnetite. most magnetic of all natural elements on earth. has a higher or similar hardness rating to iron, quartz, uranium and titanium. to put it in perspective, titanium averages out at 6 on the mohs scale. magnetite can go up to 6.5. the best penetrative feat in naruto is totsuka cutting down kabuto's senjutsu enhanced sawarmi no mai, hyped as stronger than steel. also kakashis raikiri defeating kakuzu's earth release: earth spear and on a lesser klevel. kusanagi sword being able to affect an adamantine staff.
(trivia: Adamantine and similar words are used to refer to any especially hard substance, whether composed of diamond, some other gemstone, or some type of metal.) sasuke's chidori sword cut apart a regular iron kunai. etc
sakura repelled a magnetite block with her strength
and chiyos chakra shield blocked iron sand drizzle (however sasori said its unblockable.
nothing in my opinion exists in narutoverse that can break or scratch it.

The temperature of lava when it is first ejected from a volcanic vent can vary between 700 and 1200 degrees C. magnetite is highly resistant to high temperatures, which is why its used for coating industrial water tube steam boilers.
its melting point is 1538 Celsius. so just like titanium, lava cannot melt it.
this means that mei, katsuyu and roshi cant defeat iron sand.

Gold is also denser than common sand, but Gaara was still able defeat him
I know, but that's how logic in naruto works. Gold is denser than sand as stated by the kazekage, but his sand became stronger. Theorically gold is denser than iron so we can just assume that gold is stronger.
Gaara's sand>Gold>Iron

gold is denser but not harder than iron. magnetite is harder than titanium and iron, and is known to withstand high temperatures which is why they use it on boiling tanks.

That is irrelevant. In manga Gaara's father talked about density.Gold was denser than sand and that's why he could deal with shukaku. However gaara's sand surpassed it. Density is the main factor. Forget real life logic.

If you want to talk manga logic,

Manga logic said two things..

One the third kazekage was stronger, and had the deadliest weapon in sunugakure history.. meaning there is something about iron sand you aren't taking into consideration.. You can't seriously be insinuating gold sand was stronger than it
