did Gohan ever become as strong as he was when he fought against Cell?

I remember when I rewatched the buu saga everyone was complaining that he was far weaker than he has ever been.

He held his own against Super buu, do you think Cell could hold his own against super buu as well?

Gohan end up as the strongest sayan by the end. Mystic/Ultimate Gohan was the most powerful. Vegeta said he wasn't as strong as when he fought Cell because he spent 7 years studying instead of training, but when Elder Kai awakened his full potential he far surpassed SSJ2 level.

No, he wouldn't, super buu was leagues above cell. And gohan was casually kicking his ass. He gets fodderized. Not to mention cell never got the Mach 31,000 scaling from gotenks, overall all the superior characters then gotenks did, including gohan.

Cell isn't even on par with ssj3 let alone super buu.

SSJ2 form was his hidden potential. And that was just a kid.

When he became a teenager, his hidden potential was released to it's fullest. That's more than that kid form.

Gohan became the strongest Non Fused DBZ Character ever. If you don't count GT.

Super Buu was the strongest out of the Buus. And Ultimate Gohan was able to toy with him.

& Buu is much .. much .. much .. stronger than Cell ever was. So yeah. : )

Gohan kicked *** until the plot required him to lose. Without Fusion he was the strongest character. I'd even go as far as to say he could have kept up with Kid Buu.

gohans power ran on anger. in buu arc no one pissed him off as much as cell did when he tortured his friends.
so gohan never actually weakened. he just got less of an angry brat.

vegeta was incorrect. he assumed gohan weakened because he'd done nothing for 7 years but the turth of the matter is his power merely sealed itself up in his unconscious mind. it only became fully unleashed with elder kai powerup. that power is what gohan ALWAYS had inside of him. he just didnt have the emotion or the means ot fully bring it out.
goku stated to gohan that if he became truly angry no one would be able to beat him.
