God tree fruit

Without using the knowledge of made-up information from the Anime like others, the Holy Tree was originally thought of as a sacred and divine object that no one would dare to mess with. Going into theory, there are three possibilities: no one knew what the fruit would do but Kaguya did from prior knowledge, there was an ancient myth of the power it'd provide but people were scared/respected the tree, or the same as the latter except people did want it's power and waited for the fruit to bloom but Kaguya got to it first.

I like this idea, it makes humans seem less primitive.

cause it takes a millenia to bear a fruit and looks like it is taller than most mountains seems impossible for humans of that time with limited technology so a fodder alien was able to take thanks that she can fly.
