"God of Shinobi" is it a rank?

So I know the God of Shinobi threads have been done way too many times but I felt like one more couldn't hurt. So in the past couple of chapters we've had Suigetsu and Oro both call Hashirama "God of Shinobi" definitively. But since I'm subscribed to the weekly Shounen Jump that is translated by Viz I saw something that caught my eye.

So in the previous chapter we thought that we had Suigetsu calling Hashirama "God of Shinobi" but in reality, he calls him "A God of Shinobi" as if it's a rank that's attainable to anyone strong enough.

The same thing for Oro when he talks about how he was honored to be praised by Hashirama.

So those two scans and use of the word "A" has convinced me that the God of Shinobi is an attainable rank that's not exclusive to Hashirama or Hiruzen.

i would say its a title. a rank is something that is earned like kage or sannin but god of shinobi or professor of shinobi is what a random person can see and come up and say "oh that the shinobi god/professor"

Stop taking translations so literally. What's written in originally in Japanese normally can't be translated word for word into English. Translators take liberties with phrasing so the dialogue makes sense. What you are reading is the gist of what was actually written. It's silly to try to derive hidden meaning behind subtle word choices that aren't directly from the author.

It just means when it comes to the shinobi world he is number one even madara acknowledges his power he stole his DNA after all.

whether you like it or not, he is clearly seen as one in the manga.
Even the whole characters´ own mood was sort of special as they behaved differently beside him.

Kishimoto marked clearly how even vain and ball-catching they could be just by raising their chakra as the tone of discussion elevetaed. I mean, it´s obvious these guys do whatever they like most of the times

Sannin is not a rank either. It's a title given to Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru by Hanzo.

Sannin means 3 ninjas.
