Mission: Convince a man to give up his friend (B)

Sillad waved his hand and the ice around the man he had caught in the ice prison collapsed, leaving him trembling from the cold. It was a pathetic sight, but Sillad had to change tactics if he wanted to gain any info from his target. If torture wouldn't work, then what would? He searched through his bag and found a blanket that he tossed at the shivering man. "Put this on. I don't want you freezing to death just yet." he said with a soft tone. The captive hold on to the cloth for dear life, wrapping it around his body whilst trying to normalize his breathing. "You are not running away are you?" asked Sillad as he sat on his frozen throne. The man shook his head no.

"Good. You did well to keep quiet so far. But tell me - do you really think Adam is the friend you remember?" he asked, sparking interest in the man. He could see it in his eyes.

"What are you talking about? Adam saved my life more times than I can count." he replied, rather angrily.

"Did he now? Sillad leaned forward. "But do you know what he did to me?" a slight anger could be heard in his voice, as the man shook his head no. "You wouldn't believe me anyway. I am the villain in your story, and Adam's the hero."

The man kept silent, for what Sillad said was true. There was nothing he could say to make him believe that his childhood friend was a monster, especially after murdering in cold blood another one of his comrades. Sillad had contemplated playing the good cop with this one, trying to lie and deceive him into believing that his friend was a brutal killer. Maybe throw a genjutsu in there, showing his friend brutally attacking peasants or something. But he could see the defiance in the eyes of the captive, his resolve unshaken. He could lie, torture him all he wanted, but no information was going to be given. But then it struck him. "Yes this could work." Sillad thought.

"You've seen my power, both my ice and my Tenseigan. Do you think with all that, I can take on Adam?" Sillad asked, genuinely.

The man thought for a second. "Adam is the strongest shinobi I've known. I'd say you'd have a hard time." he replied.

That was exactly what Sillad wanted to hear. He rose from the ice throne without haste and looked at the sky above. Clouds thickened above the valley, snow starting to fall, slowly at first. Soon it turned into a blizzard, raging all around. Far below laid a village, full of people, ignorant to the dangers above. Sillad pointed at the peaceful settlement down, alerting the attention of the captive.

(Kyousei Hyouton no Jutsu) Greater Ice Technique
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: A
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: Similar to the original, weaker technique, the Greater Ice technique allows the user to, by making a simple hand seal (Ram) produce walls, pillars, etc of snow or ice. The ice constructs are rather simple in nature but resilient and strong, with the user being able to materialize them anywhere short range (though from that point they can grow up to long range) from him from the moisture in the air. He can, however, use any proportional water source within short-long range of him to produce said constructs. These can also be directed and propelled as projectiles towards targets. In both cases, the size and possible uses are limited only by the users will, chakra and skill. It also allows the user to cool down existing moisture in the high atmosphere to bring down a snow storm, similar to the original technique yet stronger and faster acting. This snow storm will not directly harm anyone but is useful to cover the field in snow rather quickly (2 turns) and to hinder visibility, sense of touch and hearing on anyone caught inside. The user is not immune to these effects though and must spend 15 chakra points per turn to sustain the blizzard, while becoming unable to mold other elements than Water, Wind or Ice.

“You see them?” Sillad asked, voice deceptively calm. "Children playing catch with a ball. Women hanging cloths on lines. Men arguing about stuff. They cannot fight what I can bring. And now, only you can stop this."

The captive’s eyes darted to the lights far beneath. His face showed loyalty, but at the same time guilt, as if he had already killed the people in the village. “Adam is strong,” Sillad continued. “Perhaps one day, when we meet, I will face his side of the sword. Perhaps he could survive me. But none of that saves the people below when I let the storm loose. Those faces owe you nothing. Do you want them to die, all because you thought I might be strong enough to kill your precious friend? Only you can be the one to stop me - by telling me where he hides.”

The captive’s hands gripped tight the blanket, anger filling him, tears dripping down his cheeks. He stood silent, wrestling with loyalty. Outside, the sky gathered its threat, the storm turning more and more violent.

Sillad stepped closer until his shadow fell across the man’s knees.
“What’s it gonna be?” he asked, “Certain doom for the villagers, or a fight between me and Adam, where he might die?”

“Stop!” he cried, stumbling backward as if distance could throw off the question. He was tired, emotionally, the last bit of defiance had left him. “He’s in the outer lands, to the east,” the man said, crying. "That's all I know."

Sillad nodded, his face stone cold. He could tell the man was telling the truth. With a wave of his arm, the storm died down, the thread no longer lingering over the village. He turned around and walked away, as if this had never happened, leaving the man surprised for being left alive, pondering weather he made the right choice today.

Mission: Experiment with a very advanced Ninjutsu (S)

The frigid winds of Glacier Mount swept beneath Sillad's feet. He felt no cold; this was the kind of weather he felt most comfortable in. While his expertise in ice was close to none, he felt lacking in power. He had the mighty Tenseigan, but he was yet to grasp its full power. And he needed that power, if he was going to take on his enemies. Unlike other Otsutsuki who were born, raised and trained to use gravitation-related abilities, Sillad was a mut, raised by the Yuki clan, he didn't realize one of his parents was an Otsutsuki until later in life. It was time he honed this ability.

He entered a stone cavern, leaving the freezing winds behind. This was his place to train. The floor was littered with ice shards, swords and daggers, all left from previous training sessions. A few bodies were hung from the ceiling, precious experimental subjects that did not live through. Other bodies were semi frozen on the wall, some alive, some not.

With a deep breath, Sillad concentrated, his chakra swirling around him. He raised his hands, summoning debris from the cave's icy walls. The debris floated for a moment, but collapsed soon after. Frustration. He focused his chakra once more, this time raising ice from the ground. It floated ever so peacefully. Too bad he was using his ice chakra for the manipulation. Why couldn't he do the same, but with gravity? He tried again and again, but couldn't control the boulders for more than a few seconds. Was he really that useless?

A fainted laugh came from the small cave next door. One of his semi-frozen test subjects was making noises, that Sillad was not going to appreciate. Sillad crawled bellow a boulder. The entrance was just barely big enough for him to enter. While the room was narrow, the ceiling was at least 30-40 meters high, similar to a volcano, but with no exit. He got closer to the sound of laughter, only to see the evil laugh of a soon to be dead man. "What's so funny?" Sillad asked, frustration and anger making his mouth twitch. "You are weak." the words pierced Sillad like a dagger. "You will never be an Otsutsuki, not a real one at least. You will always be a simply ice monster, a sadist, a man with no purpose, a man..." Sillad didn't let him finish. A boulder came from across the room and slammed onto the man's face, crushing it and keeping it quiet forever. Sillad looked at his hands with a newfound disbelief. Was that the answer? Anger? If it was, he had lots more of it.

Sillad turned around and averted his attention to the ground before him. He focused his chakra once more and saw it shake. Rock formations, ripping through and elevating. He was almost ecstatic when suddenly he heard a splashing noise from behind. He turned around, the debris falling before him. He knew what it was the second he his eyes glanced the dark substance coming out of the lifeless body of the man he had just killed. "Shit..."

( Ura Shishō Fūinjutsu ) - Reverse Four Symbols Sealing Technique
Rank: S-Rank
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: This is a sealing jutsu that is placed upon the users body, setting it to activate on the users death. It seals everything within a large, nearby, spherical into the users body.
Note: Can only be activated upon the users death.
Note: The placement of this seal must be stated on the user's biography.

The dark liquid began expanding and Sillad pushed off, trying to create some distance, but it was no use. The chamber had a diameter of 3 meters. He wasn't going to make it in time. Then something happened. It was as if something greater than himself was commanding his chakra. Suddenly he took flight, raising himself far above the reach of the sealing technique. He watched the fuin unfold from the top of the chamber and he thought "How did I do that?" Was some greater power behind this? He looked around with his Tenseigan. No foreign chakra. Just his, elevating him. "I can fly?" Sillad whispered, amazed by his new found ability.

( Furaito no Jutsu ) - Flight Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 30 ( -10 per turn )
Damage: N/A
Description: Through the use of their chakra, the user gains the ability of unsupported flight and levitation. The user moves and maneuvers at his running speed. This can be used upon activation as a means of dodging attacks but afterwards cannot be utilized like such.
Note: This can be used by custom Otsutsuki clan bios, canon bios noted to have flight, and Juubi Jinchuriki bios.

Suddenly his control lagged and he plummeted back towards the ground. Pain flared, hot and sharp, and the Tenseigan blinked in protest. He was on the ground. Thankfully he had summoned a giant pile of snow below him to cushion the fall, but his right ankle felt twisted. "Damn it!" he screamed as he punched the cold snow below. Sillad limped back up, breath hitching with each step. The ankle throbbed, but the ache did more than punish; it focused him. No more blind fury, he told himself. If the Tenseigan was a weapon, it would be a precise one.

For the next days the cavern became a laboratory of small, painful experiments. He started with motion he could afford to lose: tiny stones, splinters, a single snowball. Each attempt was catalogued in his head, each failure - a lesson to learn from. It would probably take him a lifetime to master the Tenseigan, but being an Otsutsuki, he had a lifetime ahead of him.

Anger still leaked through. Once, trying to force a faster lift, he over did it and a ring of jagged daggers spun loose, stabbing yet another one of his test subjects to death. Eventually he got it right - The sphere formed, heavy and obedient. He aimed at a dead pillar and released. It struck true, sending vibrations across the cave. He smiled for quite a bit of time - something he usually didn't do.

( Tensei Kōu ) - Reincarnation Shower
Rank: B - A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20 - 30
Damage points: 30 - 60
Description: The user raises his hands and, using the gravitation forces, generates a moderately sized sphere out of nearby debris overhead, then thrusts his arms downward, sending it crashing into the ground like a meteor. The B ranked version is capable of causing moderate damage while the A rank version is enough to break through buildings.
Note: Can only be used by Tenseigan Bios.

The flight was the final, frightening step for now. It had come once without warning; now he wanted to command it. He practiced hovering low. At first he tumbled, the Tenseigan’s pull overcompensating and slamming him against the rock. Each fall taught a micro-correction: shift weight that way, breathe longer. Focusing more chakra meant sending himself flying uncontrollably - most often his body hit the ceiling above. Focusing less chakra, felt even worse, clumsier as he would elevate for a meter and then drop on his ass embarrassed. Finding the right balance took time, days even, but eventually he got it, and with it, his training for now was complete.

.

Outside, Glacier Mount’s wind kept its steady howl. Inside, Sillad sat with his leg wrapped. The Tenseigan remained a strange, ancient thing in his eyes, but it no longer felt strange, it felt similar, obedient. There was still much more to learn. If only he was an Otsutsuki, with unlimited time on his hands...

Mission: Investigate the rumours of an attack on your clan. (B)

Sillad had come down from the mountain, visiting the nearly empty market at the colony. While he rarely made an appearance here, everyone knew him as an ally of the lands - the Yuki were a respected clan who lived all around the colony. Though this time something was off - the friendly faces and greetings were replaced by whispers and murmurs. No one dared look Sillad in the eyes. A whisper carried on a merchant’s tongue reached the Frost Monarch - A dangerous group, unnamed and faceless, plotting an assault to destroy the Yuki clan.

Sillad tapped the merchant on the shoulder. It was an elderly woman, one that had sold Sillad fish once awhile back. She turned around, meeting the monarch's eyes and realized she couldn't play dumb and deny what she had said.

"Sillad, dear," she began, sensing the urgency in his stance. "I’ve... I... I've only heard rumours." Sillad kept staring intensly, not saying a word. She swallowed before continuing. "They say a group of rogue ninjas plans to raid our shores, seeking the secrets of your clan."

Sillad turned around. No way this one knew anything about the attack. For a moment, anger tried to overwhelm him, but he kept his cool. He had learned that power without proof could be reckless. He vanished from sight of the villagers and transformed himself into an acquaintance of his - Grey, who had a reputation in these lands to be a strong and protective individual, unlike Sillad who all knew was a murdering sociopath.

(Henge no Jutsu) - Transformation Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: E
Range: Short
Chakra: 5
Damage: N/A
Description: A Ninjutsu technique, which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. Henge allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.

He began his investigation where rumours began - people. At the docks of the Sister Isles he watched fishermen haul nets and listened to the rhythm of gossip. "Ye, those Yuki are about to get it. Bad thing is, we, the common people are gonna be the casualties of this war..." Sillad kept his distance. More and more people were speaking of this, but nothing of importance, nothing that would lead him to the attackers. That is until, a boatman named Riyo mentioned a strange merchant who was asking for maps far beyond what a merchant would need. Sillad now transformed as Grey approached Riyo who was unaware of the man's presence.

"Did you sell the maps to this wanderer?" asked Sillad.

Riyo turned around, slightly spooked. "Ah Grey-san. What are you doing here? Last I heard you were on an expedition to the Underworld. Did you make it there?" he asked with genuine concern.

"Never reached them." answered Sillad. "Now to buisness. The welfare of my clan's at stake. The maps..."

"Ah yes, yes, Grey-san. No, I didn't sell them. I don't need maps to navigate our seas, you know that. If anyone would have such maps, it would be granny Mara."

But of course, the old mapmaker. Sillad nodded and left. He needed to hurry - the old skank usually went to bed quite early.

.

Sillad, still transformed as Grey, knocked on the door of the old mapmaker's house. Granny Mara opened. She was an old woman with a jagged scar over one eye. "What can I do for you?" she asked, not letting the stranger come in.

"Can we talk inside?" Sillad asked rather urgently.

"Only if you deactivate that silly transformation jutsu of yours, Monarch" she replied while opening the door wide.

"That old hag." Sillad thought as he transformed back to his normal self and entered the premises.

"I assume you know what I'm here for." the Monarch said as he sat on a chair across the granny.

"You want to know who bought the map." she replied confidently before continuing: "What I don't understand though, is why? You don't hold any warm feelings towards your clan, as far as I know. You have no bonds with anyone, no friends... Your own clan tried to kill you at one point. Why would you care what happens to the Yuki?"

It was true, Sillad shouldn't care about any of this. Ever since his mother died, he had no ties to the Yuki, and yet he cared enough to not want them all to die. He thought for a second before giving the old woman an answer.

"Do you ever wondered why I never killed the Yuki myself? he replied, eyes deep in thoughts. "It's because of my mother. She made me promise her that I would not retaliate, even after everything they did to me. Because of that bond with mom, I will try to protect the scum she called family."

"You are a strange man, Monarch. If I give you this, you need to take the fight elsewhere. I don't want our colony dragged into all of this." she said, serious as always.

"Done!"

"Very well then. The man you are looking for was touched by the Scarlet Rot. He came a few days ago. Wanted the maps of the Sister Isles. In particular the location of the traps around the islands. I read his mind Sillad. These rotten bastards are up to no good. You need to know, I gave him the maps - his rotten aura was threatening to poison the colony if I refused... I did... I did what I had to do for our colony."
she replied, a slight tear could be seen on her face as well as genuine fear from what she had experienced.

Sillad sat there for a moment, silent. "So your precious colony lives, while my clan dies?" his words pierced the air, cold. The old woman knew she wasn't going to see the light of day. His killing intent was erupting from every pore of his body. The grandma meant to say something, but she had accepted her faith and remained silent.

Sillad stood up and pushed the chair to its place. He turned around to leave, his hand holding the door handle but not opening it. The air grew cold. In an instance, a large abundance of ice spikes erupted from the ground, piercing the old woman and the house from all sides.

Sillad stood up, placing the chair back and gripping the door handle tightly. The air grew cold. Suddenly ice spears erupted from the ground, piercing the walls and shattering the windows of Granny Mara’s house, with her in the centre of the spears.

(Hissatsu Hyōsō) Certain-Kill Ice Spears
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user will create a single, or a large abundance, of very large ice spikes that will protrude from the ground. The spikes were shown to have been about the size, taller even, than a small house. The user can make multiple spikes that will rise up simultaneously in the same general vicinity, or a single one.

It all ended in an instant. A quick death. It all became quiet, only noise was the blood dripping from the old woman. As he walked away from the scene, Sillad's mind was set - he was going to kill everyone who threatened his clan, even if there were casualties.
