1. I don't remember a statement in manga that stated it recovers chakra

2. Even if it does, it doesn't mean automatic healing; otherwise who needs medical ninja? All they need is a chakra tank. Hospitals and medical ninjas are useless

Naruto directly touching him and being inside kurama could have resupplied his reserves and accelerated his healing and fatigue.
