hello, even if I'm arab and happy to see that a japanese have been interested in my culture and took it as an inspiration for his manga, I just can't understand how people can say that it is a very good manga, and put it on top lists.
I've red a little of it, some chapters in the begining...what do you like about it ? a brat who wins fights by the power of friendship ? how old are you guys ?
a girl who finds a friend so doesn't want to be a thieve anymore ? just, how old are you ?
even the concept of Jin could have been used in a much better way than this.
did I skip something ? light me up please

It is a really good manga. The anime is better imo, just cuz you get to see all the cool magic being animated ^^

Give it a try, the plot is really cool, consistent, funny, and they have amazing magical powers. It is actually loosely connected to classic arab literature, pretty funny seeing the Japs pronounce arabic names and stuff Lol

I'd strongly suggest watching the anime (which is brilliant imo) first and then continue reading the manga.

It has a really good sense of exploration and adventure that isn't found in many other anime/manga (or if they do have it, they stray away from it as their stories progress). It's a series where anything can happen at anytime and has so many possibilites. I don't understand what you mean by it being childish. It deals with issues of slavery, human trafficking, political systems, war, death and human/magician equality. I guess if you're a child that might sound boring to you, but if you like mature topics then it's great. The character development (especially for Ali Baba and Morgiana) is brilliant and isn't too rushed. The fight scenes also get very good later on in the series when Ali Baba masters his djinn, Aladdin learns magic and more (not gonna spoil anything). Finally, I just like how creative and unique it is compared to other typical shounen series but still maintaining that sense of adventure.

Honestly, after watching the first couple of episodes I was thinking of dropping the series but I remained watching it and i'm really glad I did (it's now one of my favourite series). The plot progresses and becomes a lot more complex when dealing with socio-political issues. Trust me, just stick with it and you'll see what I mean :)

Couldn't have said it better.

it seemed to me childish for the friendship crap that I red in the first chapters, maybe it gets better after I don't know, ok I'll stick with it then, see what happens, but I'll keep giving my impressions in this thread while I'm watching it.

I've only watched the anime. And it's definitely entertaining. Sure it has friendship talks and blah blah blah, but then again so does Naruto, and you seem to like that.

no man in naruto it's not as obvious, it's not as naive as in Maggi
the way grown people or even ados talk about friendship isn't the same as the way children talk about it.
please, don't compare naruto to maggi, please don't.
anyway, I'll give it a second look and give you my impressions.

Friendship is always in the show so if you dont like it no point in pushing it.
I love it tho,and I usually cant stand all the friendship power bs.

Its a hilarious anime,so many funny moments, the plot is actually really good, the villains (dat Judar) are awesome aswell.

Also dat opening,best ever D:
