Combinations-strategies: obviously used to block or attack something coming at long range. Ways to counter: I could use the doton jutsu to dig a hole under the wave, create a wall to hide behind, or use a strong wind jutsu to punch a hole in the wave. Any question: nope.
Although it stats long but it will still effect anyone who comes in its vicinity, let's say you create the wave using a water source near you and then direct it towards your opponent then it is just not going to teleport there, right. Meaning it will effect anyone which lies between that distance.
Avoid using wind as a counter.

Description: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. The user will use the following hand seals to activate the technique Tiger → Snake → Rat → Snake → Tiger. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from the mouth, and is raised from below with tremendous might. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the user, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the user to control the amount of water and duration at will. Furthermore, because the field of vision is maintained even while defending one can easily go on to the next move, which is a great advantage. The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.
A technique used by Darui while fighting sasuke [many other people have also used it], Now once you weave the hand seal you go on to expel a wall of water from your mouth, the wall is semi-circular to be true and is formed all around in your front direction and it even stretches to your far left and right direction [look at the picture for a better understanding], Now you can control its duration but in most cases in will be short lasted only, The big pro is that you get to maintain your vision and therefor can be aware of all the sudden movements and other things you can also come up with a quick lightning combo to shock your opponent .

Quite an easy one, first it can only be used while your opponent is standing in the water source, you make that water source explode and this result's in the opponent being launched in mid air, once he is in mid air you go on to jump in mid air while creating a whirlpool in your hand and once you close in the distance between you and the opponent, you strike him with it and cause a large water explosion to take place.
I am quitting being a sempai so if you like you can find a new sempai or wait for nero sensei to assign a new sempai and he will most likely over take your training...

For this jutsu force the water beneath your target to explode and launch him in the air. Then jump above him and produce a large volume of spinning water around your arm resembling a huge corkscrew. I've got a video of it too. ^^ At 1:11. Try not to hurt em too bad.

I begin running towards the right side of the Giant Crab, once i enter short range I channel my chakra into the lake causing a explosion which launches it up into the air. As it begins ascending I quickly leap up, appearing above the crab. As the crab nears me I channel chakra into my arm, using nature and shape manipulation to create a spinning mass of suiton around my entire arm.
With the moment of the crabs ascention combined with my downward punch a great explosion occurs blowing the crab into pieces. As crab rains down into the lake, i appear next to my Sempai.
Great job. Now perform the Ram, Horse, and Bird handseal to manipulate water into a rapidly spinning vortex around you. It not only protects you from incoming attacks, but can be directed toward your target with enough power to knock them out. Try it on these guys.

Next, just like it's predecessor, perform the Ram handseal and spit a huge volume of water from your mouth. Of course, the amount of water and size of the waves are greater so entire areas can be quickly submerged in water. A unique feature is the ability to form all of the water into a giant orb. Try it on those guys. My nostrils are burning! T^T

Description: This technique is a stronger version of exploding water colliding wave technique. The user will first perform the ram hand seal and then spits out a large amount of water that covers an entire area, with massive waves that can crush the opponent. The user then forms the water into a giant orb, instead of releasing like weaker version of the technique.
Here's one of my personal favorites. Perform the Dog, Horse, Monkey, and Ram handseals to manipulate water into the form of a large wolf-like beast. It can attack enemies by shooting streams of water from its mouth or releasing torrents of water from its claws, both strong options. Try it out.

While still standing on the lake, I see 3 Peins mid range from me all staring at me with those twisted eyes, staring at my soul...When suddenly they all similtaniously throw kunai with a paper tag attached to the end. Knowing what those are I begin molding chakra and nature manipulating it into Suiton Chakra. When the kunai reach short range I rapidly make 3 handseals and use shape manipulation to form that chakra into a spinning vortex of water that defends me from the explosions and carries me forward to slam into the Peins. Who all see me coming and easily jump out of the way.
Having just avoided the Peins attack, Gaara is confronted by a giant Ox and 3 huge filthy dogs. Simultaneously they begin to charge at me from long range, before I let them get into mid range of me I once again mold my chakra, changing it to suiton nature. With a great deal of efforts I point my head down, make the Ram hand seal and begin expelling a large quantity of water. As the dogs and Ox continue charging me, I use shape manipulation to change the water into a huge orb. Containing the feral beasts and slowly drowning them as there movement is halted.
Proud of myself for dealing with the beasts, I head back to the lake Pein-sempai and I have been practicing on. Expecting a pat on the back I am greeted by a huge Water. Noticing the best looks angry, I quickly channel my chakra through my feet into the lake. Once down, I make 4 hand seals and use shape manipulation to form my own water beast identical in size. Almost like they are reading each others mind, Pein's beast begins expelling a stream of water just as I made mine do the same. The streams slam into each other, neither gaining any ground.

Time for an S rank that's somewhat complex. I want you to clap your hands together before slamming them on the ground to create a large pool of water beneath your target that suddenly gushes upward and launches him into the air. Following that, many small water bullets shot from the pool should strike him as you perform the Bird, Dog, Snake, and Rat handseals causing a water dragon to form from the pool and catch your target in mid-air before sending him crashing into the ground. Pick a Pein from the roster and rough him up.

Description: The user will clap his hands and slam them on the ground, streaming an incredibly rapid stream of water through it, creating a large pool of water beneath the opponent to form, that gushes upwards in a burst, lifting the opponent high into the air. The user does the Bird → Dog → Snake → Rat hand seals after his opponent is mid air, using the water pool to shoot up to 8 small water bullets, designed to further raise the opponent into the air, disorient him and damage him. The water bullets gather above the opponent after hitting and passing through his position and form into a water dragon which then attacks the target, grabbing it in its jaws and forcefully bringing it crashing into the ground. The dragon comes down from above the target, bites the target and coils down, towards the ground, crushing the target between the ground and the now incredible mass of falling water. Tobirama Senju does this technique with his own specific hand seals, similar to how he does some other water techniques. Despite long and seemingly complex, the technique is quite fast to perform and trigger.

Description:
After doing the Tiger hand seal, the user will quickly exhale a very thin stream of pressurized water that will be able to cut even rock. The most noteworthy feature of the technique is how fast the stream is and how sharp it can be. By moving his head, the user can alter the jet's cutting path, creating longer cuts or affecting bigger targets.
As the Pein soaks in a hot tub, lounging about. Gaara sends his chakra into the hot tub, and manipulates the water with a wave of his arm causing it take the form of vortex lifting the lazy dude out of the tub. Gaara flicks his arm again and the vortex stops and comes crashing down.
Standing on the lake once more, Gaara sees a 3 headed mutt standing there getting ready to charge him. Gaara quickly slams his hands on the lake, send chakra into it, manipulating the water to create a fast moving stream that pools under the dog. Quickly releasing 8 huge bullets launching it directly upwards and going around and above the dog. Gaara immediately makes 4 handseals and cause the water to shape manipulate into the head and jaws of a water dragon, crunch the mutt and slamming it back into the water.
As the dog crashes back down, Gaara makes the tiger handseal and builds a large amount of suiton chakra while nature and shape manipulating it he exhales the now water in a shape extremely fast stream, Gaara starts by looking above the mutt and then looking down towards the lake. Causing the stream to slice the mutt completely in half.
Standing on the lake once more, Gaara sees a 3 headed mutt standing there getting ready to charge him. Gaara quickly slams his hands down, creating a fast moving stream that pools under the dog. Quickly releasing 8 huge bullets launching it directly upwards and going around and above the dog. Gaara immediately makes 4 handseals and cause the water to shape manipulate into the head and jaws of a water dragon, crunch the mutt and slamming it back into the water.
Better. Now simply exhale a highly concentrated stream of water at your target. The torrent's density grants it much more destructive power than similar water jutsu and will quickly flood the target area as it expands. Fill my pool for me. Might want to get rid of those pests too.

The stream itself contains so much concentrated water that it can flood medium to large sized depressions of the battle field in relatively short amounts of time.
Finally, spew from your mouth a dense torrent of water spreading wide to create a great defensive barricade. This barricade forms almost instantly, making it an ideal defense in a pinch against high level fire jutsu. Block this attack. Katon: Gōka Messhitsu!

Description: A technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into fire, and then expelled from the mouth in a massive stream of intense flames, after doing the Rat → Ox → Dog → Horse → Monkey → Boar → Tiger hand seals. The technique has an enourmous range and can cover a huge area. When it was used by Madara Uchiha, the massive scale of the technique was such that, in comparisson, his incomplete Susanoo seemed small. The main advantage of the technique is that it can be used to burn large areas in an effect in everything similar to a flamethrower.

With the fireball approaching at quick speed, Gaara molds alot of chakra in his body and uses it to expell a extremely dense torrent of water. The torrent is big enough to defend against a huge area.
