Girl held in Pakistan, accused of burning Quran pages

I just read in the news that a local Imam was arrested for setting up the this girl. According the the news story, the Imam put the torn paper in her bag along with some burnt papers. The local police arrested the guy after some villagers who had witnessed the incident told it to them. :shrug:

true that all kind of Religions should be given respect...

As for the law,it is gonna happen what it states..

but if someone Does Something lyk that, Allah himself punishes that person ( i knw many such incidents in which such happened and that they got punished)..

So are the people who brought the new evidence to light.

These people know the girl can't read and can't tell the difference between a Quran and a Goosebumps novel, but still arrest her?

And besides, why are they so angry about their books and blasphemy?

So many people in this world lack empathy, and it makes me sick.

Who cares about some text ? Roughly 1.5 billion people.

The Imam was completely wrong to do that and while trying to frame the girl he himself committed a crime not only against the law and against God.
Some people say they are doing stuff for Allah but in the Quran they are the one who is committing a crime.

ur naive....and its neither jus a book, nor some text...^^

NOONE should impose their beliefs and irrational rules on others, especially if they are based on a religious belief only 1/6 of ppl believe in

just practice whatever you want by yourself but LEAVE everyone else alone, this is exactly why ppl dislike religion

if i want to burn the quran i damn well will do so, if i want to burn the bible i damn well will do so, if i want to burn a copy of myi fav the lord of the rings i will damn well do so, and if i want to burn what i believe in, a heap of science books, than damn it i will do that too! (provided that I own them ofc )

luckily there are no rediculous laws here and i can do that without being bashed on GLABAL (not national, GLOBAL) TV and geting death threats over such a trivial thing

Yes indeed he will punish me, I, just as billions Of non-muslims will burn because we Dont believe, Why Dont we believe? Because we were born in secular, christian, ... Families. Good to know your god punishes ppl because of circumstances the person can do nothing abou.

Also isnt god suppost to be forgiving? If Someone burned a book I wrote I would probably laugh and not make them burn for all eterneties.
