I try to use eraser in Gimp, but I can't and the eraser "mode"

is disabled. It just stopped working. Any help? I will +rep you.

The eraser modes are disabled by default in all GIMP versions.
And do not ask me why

I dont use gimp much, but if it is disabled. then try this
You can activate this tool in several ways:
--From the image menu through Tools → Paint Tools → Eraser;
--or from the keyboard using the shortcut Shift+E.
This should work, just check it.

Actually the eraser works fine...only the modes option is disabled by default and i don't see any use of the modes.^^
