I'll get straight to the point to what I am suggesting which is GIF-Video, or GIFV. To simply state this is a mere larger and longer and much more high quality GIF that Imgur introduced, I suppose you could say. You can read more about it . The new BB code would look something like this [gifv][/gifv]. And you'd use it by putting only part of the URL, after you've uploaded it to imgur, in between the tags like this:

Original URL: http://i.imgur.com/zvATqgs.webm

BB Code: [gifv]zvATqgs[/gifv]

The outcome would be something like this: but instead of just the link it would be showing up as a normal gif. Like the below example in the spoiler.

You must be registered for see images

For rules I suppose for people who want to use it, not allowed in signatures out of respect for people with slower internet, or something along those lines. Ideally my thought for this would be for profiles, and/or RP purposes, bios etc... but that may differ from someone who doesn't role play. It isn't something that is overly needed, but why not suggest and add to the site possibly?

Actually for files over 2MB it's better to use gifv, because it loads faster for people with slower internet.

But then why not .webms they are much more efficient much smaller and of higher quality and can even incorporate sounds.

Examples

i like this idea, but i must ask...

what do you have to dip your lan-cable in if you are getting such slow internet that it's unable to load a gif?
dry paint? super glue? or do you break your antenna on your Wi-Fi Router to fit it in a small metal box?
my cellphone has internet so fast it can load a 5 minute 1080p video in less than 30 seconds
i don't think there should be an issue.

Except not everyone has fast internet. Some parts of the world have slow internet, has nothing to do with the router. Seems like you just made this post to brag.

I feel it's not about net speed but more about
1.Quality
2.Amt of content in smaller size (optimization) sigs usually have a limit say within that limit a gif can store video of 10s while the modern html5 equivalents can store 50s of vid in the same size.
Likewise if a gif of say 5mb can store a clip of 720p a .webm can store at 1080p in that same size.
3.It makes browsing faster too.

Speed is additional and in some countries speeds are still not like US say 10Mbps.

You know good fast internet isn't actually cheap, unless you obviously rich which you sound like you are. People don't need to hear your bragging cause you get amount of speed in such a quick time, not everyone has the luxury of fast internet, Australian internet isn't the greatest but it does the trick, and then even so places like India which is even slower then Australians.

So thinking like that there may be a problem for other people, so no need to brag.
