Giant Vortex Jutsu perhaps underrated?

I think some people underrate this technique and it really shouldn't be underrated.

This Suiton is an A-rank jutsu and nearly all A-rank offensive jutsu are fatal. For example, Chidori and Rasengan are A-rank techs and are both fatal. I know the rank of a jutsu doesn't determine it's power; however, usually the higher the rank, the higher the power.

Can you name one offensive A-rank technique that isn't fatal?


This technique is so big and powerful that it can change the landscape of an area and cause a natural disaster. It's power is so great that when it hit Zabuza, it paralyzed him and caused such physical damage to the point that he needed a week to recover from it. This is the guy who could withstand a dozen swords deeply impaled into his back and still charge full force against an army of thugs, break through them, and cut off Gato's head with just a kunai in his mouth. His physical resistance is great, so if Giant Vortex Jutsu could put him in such a position, it has to be a very strong technique.

18 Hand seals till you can use it? that is a lot, he would be hit by Rasengan or basically anything before he makes those hand seals, i am not gonna say it isn't strong, but needing to make 18 hand seals before using it? that's a lot of time for for example Konohamaru to create Clones and hit Zabuza with Oodama Rasengan

18 isn't alot. Sasuke noted he performed Water Dragon Jutsu, 44 hand seals, in only seconds. Zabuza is very skilled in hand seals, having a 4/5, the second highest in the whole Akatsuki (right behind Itachi). If he can perform Water Dragon Jutsu in only seconds, he can perform GVJ fast.

He also can stall for time to use the technique by using Water Clones. Also, he can hide in the mist to draw time to use it. But these things aren't necessary due to the fact of the speed of his hand seals.

Is very strong but it takes a lot of prep time because of the seals

Zabuza being in the mist can use it without problems if he hydes to perform the seals while he sends some clone feints to distract the opponent

If its not Zabuza the one using it, is not vey usefull

18 seals really isn't that much tho, most high level ninja can perform that many seals in a few seconds. But I know what u mean.
