[Suggestion] GFX Battle arena

I think that there should a subsection in the Design Hall where the members can have a GFX duel with each other if they want. Where they can present a challenge for someone to accept or even bring another specific member for a duel. There is really no drawback of having it. But opposite to that, it's fun and a great way of improving at GFX. Losing does many things. U_U Anyhow, to me, it's something basic for a GFX section. You can't have a GFX battle here right now, it's as simple as that. It would be a nice add-on to the already stable Design Hall.

Sorry fella, but contests are not like GFX duels, in GFX battles, a ref gives the participants a render to work with, and they're more fun than GFX contests such as the SOTW, take a look at a GFX forum to figure out the difference.

I agree with the idea, GFX battles are so much fun.

It's not the same. Sotw is being posted mostly twice a month it has a very specific theme that's not up to the members to decide and generally it's too restricted (to options etc).
I like the idea but I think the subsection it's too much, I believe a sticky thread would be easier both to moderate and to keep up.

SOTW and a regular duel are two different things. Here you are able to challenge another member for any type of battle. Wether it be sigs, logos, wallpapers etc. There are way more possibilities with this. On top of that, unlike SOTW, it wouldn't require you to wait half a month for the results or to wait for the next SOTW.

Why not go to a GFX contest site? There are a lot of people who specializes these kind of stuff in other gfx websites and actually gives you real and helpful (don't forget about truthful) advises besides here.

Hm well this is weird. No love for NB? Why make a Design hall here, that can be asked too. The thing I said is said to make the design hall and the GFX'ers here better. I am on GFX site, though many people here aren't.

The treads for the battles can go on the designers hall. Just an idea cause I have the feeling that mods/admins don't like to over expand sections, mostly those who seem to be less popular. I wouldn't mind a subsection, I just expressed an alternate in case the "too many sections,hard to moderate,not much interest to make new section" argument comes up.

As Faye just wrote. Create a group and invite people interested in doing this, then you can organize this gfx battles. If the group gets popular and so on, I might consider helping you guys to make it more official, however til then I need to see proof that It's a concept that will work and that people do enjoy it, more than just 5-6 people battling over and over again.
