Are you forgetting that Gaara can soar the skies?

Clearly far above the reach of Totsuka blade.
Lets see how big Totsuka is:

As if that sword even touches Gaara.
Not much bigger than Susano'o itself, which isn't that impressive in size feats in the first place.

This should be an interesting one. I see Itachi taking this, but with the utmost high difficulty. Gaara's defense mitigates Amaterasu and he can work around any form of Genjutsu by using the Third Eye which lets him watch movements while avoiding direct eye contact. The only problem is Totsuka, which for myself, I don't know how Gaara will persist in countering it given the sheer size of it. Although its piercing properties are unknown since the only two things it has pierced are people, which are much easier to pierce than a nearly absolute defense made up of dense sand.
This is the problem, he can avoid eye contact but are we forgetting about ephemeral? or dusk crow genjutsu/tsukuyomi combo?
Will gaara avoid Itachi's finger despite having no knowledge on it? Will gaara be able to react to a blitz from Itachi when hebi sasuke couldnt?
Just saying![]()
Are both participants ready?
1. Brute strength is meaningless, Itachi will not come into physical contact with Gaara unless he is dead. The starting point of this mach is 50 Meters.
2. Magatama is also meaningless, the fight starts from 50 meters apart from each other and Gaara would instantly take flight. He is more than capable to dodge something as blatantly obvious to see such as Yasaka Magatama.
Totsuka blade cannot reach him from his overwhelming heights, as I've already posted in the forum. His fight with Deidara proved that the sky isn't the limit when it comes to Gaara's flight capabilities.
You're acting as if this fight will be close combat, when it's quite the opposite.
Can't tell if serious, your main argument for gaara winning is that he will the flight advantage which hardly makes a difference, Itachi has ways of attacking Gaara and forming strategies. Regarding the third eye, it is said it still connected to Gaara's optic nerve which we can conclude he is still vulnerable to genjutsu, Anyway's dealing with the 3rd eye won't be a problem as seeing it isnt keeping up with Itachi's shunshin and can potentially be watching a crow clone for the majority of the time, Itachi can easily cloud gaara's vision via 3rd eye byYou must be registered for see linkssurrounding the 3rd eye. Also the crows are very versatile and Itachi has ways to reach gaara as he should be capable of riding on top of his crows once they reach a large size similar toYou must be registered for see links. Round one -

As for Totsuka and Susano'o:

Gaara was flying hundreds of feat above his massive city, Susano'o and Totsuka would only compare to Sunagakure's buildings.=D
Haha, you may have just convinced me. Although, Itachi has Katon or Suiton techniques that can deter Gaara from that height and bring him within Totsuka piercing distance as we know that spawning Susano'o is literally a second or less for him (Sasuke fight).
genjutsu is pretty much negated since the third eye can be formed anywhere like behind itachi, or hidden using the terrain or even formed high up in the air right beside gaara
and amaterasu can also be negated by the layer of sand he has on his body in case he gets hit
now if he can do something about susanoo then gaara can win
how does gaara put out a fire of this magnitude? this isn't little enton flames like vs sasuke
one touch and the fire isn't going out. who will save gaara? You must be registered for see images
