The modeling industry and pageants are a joke. Especially pageants. Look hot, do something creative and say something smart so people will get even more aroused because it's curves AND brains.

No curves, no good skin, flat-chested and wearing a plain skirt, she's a 6.5 at best.

I don't understand what's so wrong with having competitions that emphasize being physically attractive. There are competitions that emphasize being able to cook. There are competitions that emphasize intelligence. There are competitions that emphasize being physically strong. Yet, you don't see accusations that these competitions are saying these people are only good for cooking, or their brains, or their ability to lift weights because they're positive traits. I don't see why a competition that emphasizes physical attractiveness is inherently bad like this. Yeah, I know the backstage stuff and what many models feel the need to do is really gruesome at times, but the concept in of itself shouldn't be so scrutinized.

You do have a point but in my opinions defence; they set a retarded standard for beauty with skin-on-bone girls, make-up on top, fake facial expressions and such. The whole scene is just shallow and pompous.

I agree that the standards of the concept we have now are disgusting, I just feel as though it's not the concept that's bad, but the execution.
