Logically speaking, Genma should win both scenarios with moderate amount of difficulty. By manga portrayal, four sound ninjas >= 2 Konoha jounin so it should mean that it takes two sound ninjas to beat one Konoha jounin. One sound ninja should still be powerful enough to push the Konoha jounin to mid difficulty though and aren't that much weaker.
