They can trigger physical responses form the victim's body if that's what you're asking, i.e : if the user is someone like Itachi or Sasuke they should be able to make people shit their pants with scary illusions


But killing is doubtful, the person would have to have heart problems or something because it takes a lot to be scared to death. But victims of genjutsu still DO feel real pain because neurons are connected to the brain.

In the end of the day your brain controls every organ which means your body as well as your mind will be influenced by genjutsu.

Itachi did kill someone with his tsukuyomi in the Itachi Shinden novel. But that's the only time it's been suggested genjutsu can be fatal, other than the Kurama clan's KG ability.

Tsukuyomi is the only known genjutsu that can kill by its own sheer power. Otherwise, other visual genjutsu like 3T and KA could only kill if they order the target to kill themselves.

Yes, Tsukyomi enervates one's spirit by inducing mental trauma condensed in a mere instant powerful enough to actually kill someone. That was at least implied after Kisame was baffled at how Kakashi was still alive and believed that Itachi could've killed him.

Nah, in the tsukyomi she lived her entire life but in reality it was only a fraction of a second. She married Itachi in her mind. He basically put her in an IT where she lived her life to the fullest but in reality Itachi killed her. In the anime, Obito killed her.

in the manga didnt itachi use tsukuyomi on his girl and made her live out her life and she died because of it?
