In the Naruto-Verse, there are plenty of genjutsu that SOME people can break out of. Although some people can break out of some jutsu compared to others, what are the top genjutsu's that cannot be broken out of or would be nearly impossible to break out of? Please list those below. To add on, when trying to come up with which genjutsu out there would be impossible to break out of, think of this scenario. When Itachi & Sasuke Uchiha fought Kabuto Yakushi, Kabuto became immune to genjutsu while in sage mode, although still fell pray to Itachi's Izanami. Which genjutu are that powerful? Ones such as Izanami, Infinite Tsukuyomi, Kotoamatsukami, and etc.

Please & Thank you.

Tayuya's flute

Other than that, not much genjutsu that "traps" was really given attention in the manga

Izanami cannot be stopped, Tsukuyomi is unbreakable by non-Uchiha, Infinite Tsukuyomi is unbreakable, only Rinnegan is immune to it. Kotoamatsukami is definitely unbreakable. Obito's 3T genjutsu controls perfect jinchuuriki so it might be unbreakable, but it's an unknown genjutsu.

So the genjutu's that you named. Even someone like Kabuto who is suppose to be immune to genjutsu can be effected? I'm trying to prove to a friend that there are genjutsu out there that are unbreakable. Also, can you explain a bit more as to how Kotoamatsukami is "definitely unbreakable?" My friend was told me that someone experienced with genjutsu can see through it, although I HIGHLY doubt it.

Itachi's Tsukuyomi, Shisui's Kotoamatsukami, and Infinite Tsukuyomi is the only Genjutsu that comes to mind that really cannot be broken by normals means. However, the rest are really simple to break: (1) weaving the release real, or (2) a friend disrupting your chakra. Izanami is different because it's not used for combat and it's to "change destiny" and to break it, you would have to change yourself.

Thanks, I figured there were genjutsu out there that were unbreakable.

Very true to an extent. It was hard for me to believe coming from my friend that, Kabuto could break through ALL these genjutsu and stuff. Lul.

Kotoamatsukami is unbreakable if a third person isn't around with the power to see Shisui's eye or chakra. Once used, the victim will obey the command of Kotoamatsukami. As for Kabuto, he's not immune to genjutsu. He can only block it by hiding his eyes in Dragon Sage Mode. Itachi used Tsukuyomi on Kabuto.

It was also a way to make the battles more difficult for the protagonists that weren't Uchihas

If at least one protagonist could consistently, actually use genjutsu without requiring a Sharingan, or if Kakashi learned to use his own Sharingan better, they would have had a lot less trouble going against like, most of the antagonists prior to the Pain Arc

Quick question, a little off topic. This is about Kotoamatsukami. What flaw does it have? Like when Shisui uses it. Because he was feared by that genjutsu and must have used it more than twice. It was stated that you have to wait a decade before using the genjutsu again, but Shisui must have used it more than what is said.

Itachi said Shisui's eyes create Kotoamatsukami, so I believe with both eyes the interval is a lot less and the genjutsu is a lot stronger. Danzo only had one eye and was controlling Mifune, though it was broken.

So possible by having both eyes, the usage of them would be greater than if you only had one? If so then that seems about right.
