Okay now, describe to me what genjutsu is.

Genjutsu are illusionary techniques that are used or implemented the same way as ninjutsu in which is uses chakra and the use of hand seals in most cases. Though the only difference between the two is that unlike ninjutsu which attacks the body physically, genjutsu affects the opponents chakra system in the opponents brain causing them to see illusions.

How exactly does the alteration of the opponent's chakra flow create these illusions?

What are the limitations of genjutsu?

It creates the illusions due to your chakra interfering with their chakra system in their brain which causes distortions in their perspective of reality and it messes with the opponents 5 senses.

Basicly the only thing you cant do with genjutsu is hurt them physically with it, though you can still go up to them and stab them or something.

Good.

Another limit to Genjutsu is that you can't control how an opponent will react. You create the illusion and then their reaction is up to them. This is more important when making genjutsu customs than when going over the canon list, but its important to know.

What are the three methods one can use to break free of a Genjutsu? What characters/abilities make a person immune to genjutsu, and why?

1. The first way to break yourself from a genjutsu is to stab yourself with an item, it causes pain which cancels out the enemy's chakra disruption with-in your brain due to the pain causing your chakra system to "pump" more chakra at a faster pace.

2. If you are in a genjutsu that disallows movement you could use a jutsu like chidori which causes pain in the users hand which does the same thing stabbing yourself would.

3. The third option is to use kai which basically releases you from genjutsu due to stimulation in the chakra system which removes the enemys chakra from your system.

4. If you are a jin the bijuu would notice that you are in a genjutsu and forcfully put their chakra into you which would free you out of the genjutsu.

5 Friendly does the same thing as a bijuu and puts their chakra into you breaking you out of the genjutsu.

6. 8IG users in 8IG mode would (in my opinion) be unaffected by genjutsu since their chakra system is going at such a fast rate the enemy chakra would be able to affect their brain.

#2 is wrong. For one, chidori requires hand seals, so if you're immobilized you wouldn't be able to use it. Also, the pain/damage it does to the user is minimal, and not enough to break free from genjutsu. I think what you're thinking of is Chidori Nagashi, which is the one where you release lightning from all over your body. This is classified as a full body technique, where you're creating a surge of chakra throughout your body. Its dispels genjutsu through the same concept as Kai.

As for #6, I don't think being in the EIG would make you immune to genjutsu, but the act of opening a gate would.

Ok i read the whole post, Yes i mean chidori nagashi ~_~ (Wasn't sure which technique it was and i didn't want to go hunting in the jutsu lists so i figured you would know which one i was talking about lol)

Ahh ok ahah i thought that if you were atleast in 7th gate since the chakra is flowing so fast that in its self is a disturbance of sorts to that which genjutsu wouldn't affect you?

Its not an unreasonable way of thinking, and it may very well be true as I don't think we've seen someone attempt to put Gai in a genjutsu while using the gates, but since its not something that's been confirmed in our RP its best to assume it doesn't work like that.

Okay and just to summarize, the three ways to break a genjutsu are:

1. Pain (Physical Energy Disruption)
2. Disrupting your Chakra Flow (Kai or similar techniques, Spiritual Energy Disruption)
3. Foreign Chakra

Oh, and also Medical Ninja are immune to genjutsu. If you want I can explain why, but I'm feeling a little lazy so only if you ask.

For this first technique, you will alter the opponent's sense of sight in order to create illusions of the environment. You can only change the way the terrain looks with this technique. It works best if you work with small details rather than large objects.

I gather my chakra then release into your clone (Really dont know how to actually put the illusion on your clone so bare with me lol) distorting his senses and altering the terrain little by little.

Queston: What is the correct way to put the opponent in this genjutsu?

You put the illusion in the target by inserting your chakra into them and messing with their chakra flow. Not all genjutsu use the same trigger so it may be different depending on the technique. Some require eye contact, some require touch, some use hand seals as the trigger, etc.

Now, work on your description. You need to tell me exactly what about the terrain you're changing.

The original Terrain: A plain field with short green grass, boulders scattered around and a ton of lushes green tress surrounding the field, a small stream to my left and a pond to my right.

Changed Terrain: A plain field with short dead grass, boulders every few meters with a relativley small cave behind a boulder, Dead trees mixed with green trees and a birds flocking everywhere, the pond and river are switched around though the river is deep enough to have 2 adults standing on top each other and not show.

A little bit, but you're doing a little too much. Try to make the illusion simpler, and write it out as if you're making a move in a battle.

I start by placing your clone into the genjutsu by focusing my chakra into your clones brain altering your clones senses to see the terrain change from the once almost empty field with occasional trees here and there in groups of five to trees of groups of 7 with a faint sound of crows. The once flat plain now had a small hill to the left.

Just a tad bit of changes, im no good with gen xd or at least this tech

I want you to try it again, use it in a full 3-move turn. Have it serve some sort of purpose in your move.

I start by running over to the lake and proceed to stand on it, i then perform the Ox → Monkey → Hare → Rat → Boar → Bird → Ox → Horse → Bird → Rat → Tiger → Dog → Tiger → Snake → Ox → Ram → Snake → Boar → Ram → Rat → Yang Water → Monkey → Bird → Dragon → Bird → Ox → Horse → Ram → Tiger → Snake → Rat → Monkey → Hare → Boar → Dragon → Ram → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Bird → Yang Water → Rat → Boar → Bird hand seals and release my suiton chakra into the water i then take control over the water mixed with my chakra and form it into a huge dragon i then direct the water dragon towards you striking it in the gut causing you to heel over in pain and fly off towards a group of trees. I then cast the genjutsu on you creating multiple trees around you and i while your flying backwards, i then create a slight hill to my right and create a rock around myself to keep hidden from you, i then dragon hand seal and create three swords of wind in front of myself i then shoot them into the sky where they stop and i gather more wind onto them creating a dragons claw around the three swords i then shoot the dragons claw down onto you hitting you with massive pain and creating a 3" crater under you.
