I am Shun Kazami(bows his head) I am the only surviving ventis brawler. I am not that good with description but Ill try my best. I am one of the calmest shinobis. I rarely get flustered or annoyed and even when I am annoyed; I maintain a cool voice (even though he voices his displeasure). I is a lone wolf and always focuses in battles. However, my stamina does have its limits; shown by how I tire after a large amount of constant battling. I have good instincts as I am able to discern a person's actions by their personality.
I love genjutsu because it is a special ability that allows one to be able to trick or decieve an opponent in any situtation and it also gives room for wide range of thinking based on illusions.

Genjutsu is affecting your opponents sense of reality by distorting and controlling the flow of chakra through their brain. By doing so you create an illusionary world for your opponent which can have a wide range of affects, such as paralysis or blindness. This is a dangerous art to face since while you are trapped in the illusion, you are helpless in reality. Genjutsu is often done through one of the 5 senses, this can cause pain or trauma to the person by tricking their brain into thinking it really happened. Genjutsu is mostly associated with people of high intelligence since one must me skillful to be able to manipulate their opponent properly.
What I mean by "wide range of thinking based on illusions" is that you skillfully create a kind of genjutsu that will look real to the target making it hard for the target to realise they in a genjutsu while you continue to manipulate the genjutsu to your advantage.

Genjutsu is a process in which a user's chakra is sent to the target's brain and the chakra is used in such a way that the chakra is used to tamper with the target's brain thereby making the target see illusions(things tgat are not real) in order to confuse their target and distract them with the use of the illusions set by the user.
It gives wide range of thinking because with genjutsu, various combos can arise and to be able to perfectly use the combos and putting the target in a no-way out condition, the user has to be wide with imaginations and be able to think of how to cast genjutsus without the target figuring its a genjutsu.

Much better. Now remember, Genjutsu doesn't just affect sight, nor does it simply transmit through sight, either. The other senses like touch, smell, hearing... Genjutsu is basically a stimulus by which your chakra system is disrupted, thereby affecting your senses in general. And you are correct in your second part... a lot of genjutsu users defeat their opponents by forcing them into no-way-out situations.

By inflicting pain on yourself, by placing your hands together thereby releasing a burst of chakra in between your palms to break the illusion(kai)(which is also one of the techniques under genjutsu) and chidori nagashi.

Kai is a way of stopping the user's chakra flow which will lead to a spark of the user's spiritual energy and help the user to stop the flow of the corrupt chakra of the opponent in his chakra system and break him out of the genjutsu.
Apart from chidori nagashi, I sincerely don't know any other jutsu that can break free from a genjutsu. Im not sure, but I think earth armor can also break someone free of genjutsu.

Yes, Earth armor works! However, for canon elemental jutsus that count as "full-body surges", you can only use them on genjutsus up to one rank lower. Since the Nagashi is A-ranked, it only works on B-ranked gens, maximum. The Earth Hardening jutsu is S-ranked, so up to A-ranked gens. This is why S-ranked genjutsus are rarely approved due to their OP nature

How they do so
The user firstly channels raw chakra into the target's chakra system then to the target's brain(corrupting the target's chakra in the process) and utilize the chakra in the target's brain to create an illusion where the target sees the whole terrain change all of a sudden.
What happenes
If successful, the jutsu will allow the user to change the real terrain into something else in the illusion but the real terrain still remains in the real world. This totally confuses the target(if used well).
How to break out of it
The illusion can be cancelled by either doing Kai, Inflicting pain on oneself through basic freeforming and doing a full body surge.
Usage
I would use this jutsu in accordance with a jutsu performed by an ally or clone. For example, The clone would make earth spikes emerge from the ground while I will quickly cast the target in a genjutsu where the earth spike cannot be seen making the jutsu much more difficult to the target.

Now, for this one, you'll create illusory clones of yourself that emerge from the ground and attack your target. If your opponent tries to attack them, they'll split and multiply, increasing in numbers.
