Alright, Danzo and Gecko, genjutsu it is. Before we start, both of you answer these questions. >_> Copy and paste and I kill you.
  • What is genjutsu?
  • What are its battle uses in our RP?
  • What the ways to release yourself from a genjutsu? Explain them.
I will only respond when both of you do. ^^

Genjutsu is the art of manipulating your opponents 5 senses by disturbing their chakra systems without them knowing. This can greatly affect how the opponent acts. Genjutsu is mainly used to distract since genjutsu doesn't actually happen in reality but when the opponent is confused and disorientated by a genjutsu is the best opportunity to follow-up with a counter. Genjutsu can also be used in many different ways by obstructing the opponents vision or conjuring things out of thin air.
There are 4 ways to release yourself from a genjutsu:
Kai-the technique which restarts your own chakra flow to disrupt the genjutsu and stop it.
Pain-Inflicting pain on yourself will also get you out of genjutsu
Awareness- You can't do anything about the genjutsu if you don't know you're in one. It would be easy to notice if it was something large or appearing out of thin air but more subtle genjutsu are harder to notice.
Full Body surges- Elemental and chakra that affect your whole body and break you out of genjutsu; nagashi

Damn, Gecko isn't online. >_>

Since I stalked your old genjutsu training so much when I was waiting for it to finish I learned a few new things even though I wasn't the one being taught that time. :p

Elemental full body release- 1 rank below
Chakra full body release- 2 ranks below

Fantastic. o_o

So when I give you a technique..

1. Describe yourself performing the technique
2. Give a situational battle use
3. Name a couple techniques you could pair it with

Ok I understand. ^^
Cool, so starting off with..

( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

This technique changes/adds/removes a feature on the terrain you are currently standing on. Effective, since it goes up to a mid-range distance and has a multitude of uses.

I concentrate my chakra and look around my surrounding area for a few seconds to see if there is anything I can adjust with the illusion. Seeing nothing suitable enough I decide add something instead. I picture several sharp spikes of earth and I focus my chakra in front of the opponent to make the spikes of earth appear in front of the opponent.
1) This genjutsu can be used to alter the environment cosmetically to trick the opponent into doing something they wouldn't normally do. Genjutsu can't control the opponents actions but with this you can distract the opponent.

I would use this genjutsu at close range so I would have time to use a fast Raiton jutsu, preferably one that paralyzes the opponent like Chidori Senbon or Chidori Spear.

@Bold/Underline: This part of your description fails you. You manipulate the chakra that controls my clone's senses. By doing that, you make him imagine he sees something on the battlefield changing.

@Red: What feature are you changing? And how would that feature changing help you in battle?

1) This use of the genjutsu would limit the opponents movements and would normally keep them from moving forwards for fear of being impaled by the spikes. This wouldn't be certain however since it can't control his actions.

@Red: Correct. You can make the opponent feel his nose itch, but you can't make him scratch it. It's a good lesson I like to tell all of my students.

Suddenly, you see a small pond appear out of nowhere on the battlefield in front of you.

I have placed you in the genjutsu wejust learned. Now I want you to logically describe how you know you are in a genjutsu. Then I want you to perform a hand seal, stopping your chakra. Spike it quickly after, to flush my foreign chakra from your system.

Such fast replies. O__O

As I notice a small pond appear in front of me I am confused as to how it got there. I wondered if Selen had used a suiton jutsu but he didn't make any hand seals or show any sign of making the pond appear. Seeing how it isn't normal fora pond to just appear I took a guess that I could have been placed in a genjutu so I decide to see if I was. I make the necessary hand seal and completely stop my chakra and its flow and then concentrating on releasing the foreign chakra from my system releasing me from the genjutsu.

Alright, so Kai!

You have successfully learned the Kai technique. ^^

( Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy, unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may use this technique through physical contact on others to dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic as to why he figured out it was an illusion.

The basic method of releasing from a genjutsu. You can currently release from up to an A-rank genjutsu. Now, if you have a clone and it inserts its chakra into you to release you from a genjutsu, you must use this technique as well. What type of genjutsu can this not release? (besides those mentioned in the technique, im looking for more of a "category" of genjutsu)

Possibly, it would include some techniques in those categories. But even a BROADER category is what i'm looking for. What does Kai require to perform, and what can some genjutsu do to stop that from happening?
Kai technique requires the knowledge that you are in a genjutsu in the first place. Some genjutsu are very subtle and aren't out of the ordinary so you wouldn't be able to just guess you're in a genjutsu or that would be metagaming.

Correct, but not what i'm looking for. xD What physical requirement does performing a Kai technique require? Hint: It's in the technique description.

Is it focus ? xD
If the genjutsu is very disturbing then you might not be able to focus and halt your chakra system.
