Genjutsu are techniques that use the chakra in the victim's brain to form illusions, it falls into the category of Yin release. They normally require you to weave hand seals, however there are a few exceptions, for example Uchiha usually only use eye contact while operating Genjutsu. Genjutsu will use hypnotism to cause hallucinations in others, thus allowing the user to hurt and play with the victim's emotions. Kurenai and 2nd Mizukage are few genjutsu users who are not part of the Uchiha Clan. Sensors are able to know whether they are within a genjutsu or not due to their visual prowess, intelligent characters who have studied the way Genjutsu works also wouldn't have much problem discovering whether they are in a Genjutsu or not. To combat the utilisation of Genjutsu you can stop the flow of chakra in your body and then apply a superior power to disrupt the flow of the original user's chakra, this is Genjutsu Kai. Another option is to have an outside ninja unaffected by the Genjutsu make body contact, and use their chakra to disrupt the opponent's chakra flow, but some jutsus which include of the sharingan jutsus such as Tsukuyomi and Kotoamatsukami may still be difficult to break, due to them being instantaneous.

Excellent work. Though not all Genjutsu techniques need handseals or eye contact, some use motion of the body like Itachi's Genjutsu techniques.

When I finish listening to my Sensei's words, I try to deeply concentrate my chakra, gradually building it up, as soon as this process is concluded, I extend my chakra flow through the cerebral nervous system of my Sensei thus granting me the ability to control his mind. I then attempt to disrupt the chakra in his brain by making him visualize a waterfall in the background providing the soothing sound of every last trickle in the flow of water.

To realise you are in this Genjutsu, you must have strong eyesight as this enables you to spot any illogical substances around, if this is proven to be the case, then you can attempt to get out of this confinement by causing intense pain to your yourself.

Or, as long as it isnt harmful to you, you can ignore it and do a full body surge technique later on that will get you out of the genjutsu.

I first begin to concentrate my chakra as soon as it reaches the optimum, I extend the chakra flow towards to your brain where it starts to disrupt your chakra, while doing so, I apply an illusion/image containing a shower of flower petals which almost devour me and make me disappear, as soon as this reaches through to your brain you start seeing this process first-hand. These petals then surround you and block your vision.

Now I want you to tell me how you would recognize that you were in this genjutsu and how would you break it without using Genjutsu Kai Technique.
If you cant tell that you are in a genjutsu, what can you do to get out of the genjutsu and protect yourself at the same time.

Full Body Surge Technique. Dont defend against the Genjutsu, use a full body surge of chakra technique to defend/counter/evade your opponent's next technique. If the genjutsu comes at the end of the technique, then you cant do this.

I first begin to concentrate my chakra as soon as it reaches the optimum, I extend the chakra flow towards to your brain where it starts to disrupt your chakra, while doing so, I apply an illusion/image showcasing my clone running towards the target which is your clone in this instance, in reality however the substance is just a paper bomb which will explode in close-range.
Strong points:
- Causes Damage
- Provides a distraction for a stronger jutsu.
Weak points:
- Can be fought easily if the person is capable of good knowledge.
Strategies:
Like most genjutsus previous to this, you can use this for a major distraction allowing you to prepare for a stronger jutsu but unlike the other jutsus this is capable of causing damage to the opponent which is a major plus.
How to Get out of this Genjutsu(No Kai):
You can break out of this genjutsu via the full body surge technique. You can also get released from genjutsu by being very careful with the surroundings to spot any illogical substances.

Description:A Genjutsu technique that creates false attackers to delay and confuse the enemy. Though these servants are not real,
the actual ninja is able to remain hidden and throw kunai and shuriken matching the movements of the servants. This makes it appear
the false servants are capable of attacking. When the enemy attempts to attack the servant, they will merely disrupt the servants illusion body but not destroy it.
Make multiple clones of yourself that are just images you opponent sees. Then use this as an opportunity to throw several kunai and shuriken that go along with the movement of the clone images.

(not happening >_>) As soon as you begin to see this first hand, you start to lose consciousness and eventually faint because that's something you are most frightened by such a scenario. :|
Adv: You can try using a strong move which may require a lengthy chain of handseals etc.., as they faint during this genjutsu.
Disadv: It's bullshit.. jkjk It's pretty easy to realise the opponen't playing you, as your most hated thing won't just appear out of nowhere.
A good combination with this, like I already said is that you should try to attempt much stronger jutsu to finish off your opponent while they are temporarily fainted.

And now for Applied Science. I want you to perform a 3 jutsu combination using one of the D ranked Genjutsu techniques I just taught you and any other cannon jutsu that you know. As most D Ranks are Short Range, Assume that is the range you start off fighting your opponent. After the 3 jutsu combination, I want you to defend against your technique, telling me how recognize and break out of the Genjutsu while defending/blocking/countering your first move. No using Kai. Pain is allowed. Full Body Surge is allowed.

I first begin to gather up chakra and extend the chakra flow towards my opponent's brain as an attempt at disrupting his chakra, while doing so, I apply an illusion/image containing a shower of flower petals which almost consume my presence. I then apply this procedure and deliver to my bewildered opponent, as I do so, it's ability kicks in and shrouds it's way through to the opponent and temporarily blocks his vision.

As soon as his vision is temporary disabled, I quickly take a momentary lapse and then gather my fire chakra within my lungs and proceed by weaving the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger and upon forming the final hand seal I form a circle using my thumb and index finger, and then proceed by exhaling this fire chakra creating a large fireball incinerating everything within it's range including my opponent.
( Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique )
After this moment, I then quickly sprint forward towards my opponent's direction, upon reaching reasonably close distance, I begin by pointing my finger high in the sky in a vertical motion and then gather the raiton chakra from the sky and aim it at my opponent, once ready I fire this instantaneously.
(Raiton: Hiraishin) – Lightning Release: Flying Thunder God
I begin to sense I'm trapped within a genjutsu, due to the instantaneous change that occurred in the surrounding environment, so I follow by pinching myself forcefully thus allowing me to escape, once I'm released, I retract back from my original position to slightly distant mid range and channel my fuuton chakra through the whole of my body, once finished I expel it as huge blast, which overwhelms the nature around us and heads towards my opponent's direction, this overwhelms the fire jutsu, but lightning is still able to carry on.
(Fūton: Atsugai) - Wind Style: Pressure Damage
As I notice the lightning blast coming towards me at full pace, I quickly gather Raiton chakra myself and release it to create a plasma barrier which deflects my opponent's attack, thus keeping me safe and allow me to prepare for my next attack.
(Raiton: Purazuma Bōru ) - Lightning Release: Plasma Ball
Then I sway my left hand across and apply it to my right one thus forging electrical energy upon contact. Once finished I continue by slamming the ground with animosity, this then allows the lightning from my hands to flow through the narrow cracks and heads towards it's designated point, which is my opponent.
(Raiton: Ikazuchi no Utage) - Lightning Release: Lightning Burial ~ Banquet of Lightning

Now I want you to explain to me what Kai Release is and how exactly it breaks you out of Genjutsu. Also what Genjutsu techniques will Kai Release NOT work on.
