*Puts you in an illusion where you think you've become a badass*
Sorry, I can't teach you how to become one. However, I can teach you how to fool other people into thinking you're one . Tell me everything you know about Genjutsu
Genjutsu or the Illusionary Arts is that of what I just said. It is not like normal methods we in the ninja world use, it does not work like ninjutsu. It does not cause any physical pain towards the opponent. It is simply an illusion. Though it does not mean an illusion can't cause serious metal stress to the point of exhaustion. This is usually the case with KG type jutsus like the famous Sharingan. Genjutsu works against an opponent when the user sends their own chakra into the chakra system of the opponent located in the brain. The users chakra acts to disrupt the chakra flow which overall activates the genjutsus effect. When the genjutsu is active in the rain it acts in a way to alter the opponents senses. The senses it effects are the 5 basic senses; hearing, taste, feel, vision, and smell. How the genjutsu disrupts this senses could be the opponent can feel itchy feelings to effect the feel sense. An opponent can probably smell perfume in the battlefield which effects the sense of smell. The opponent can hear the screams of a little girl, which effects the hearing sense. As you can notice this are just the basics it effects.
Now how the genjutsu us set depends on the range of the opponent and user as well as if they know where one another are. If you are short range of the opponent its much quicker to cast a genjutsu then an opponent who is long range. Also you must always know your opponents position no matter what, that is the only way to channel your chakra to the opponents brain. So if you have no idea where they are, it would be virtually impossible to set a genjutsu on them. Now as long as you do know then you don't necessarily have to, have a visual link, all you need is a sensory link.
Now to understand what happens to the opponent when they are caught in a genjutsu their are usually two effects that happen to the opponent. Usually with almost every genjutsu the opponent when caught are almost frozen and unable to move since their senses are completely somewhere else. This is the most common effect that happens, another effect is usually with high ranked genjutsu the opponent will usually react with the genjutsu, they are not frozen but moves around in attempt to react with the genjutsu effect. So a genjutsu that shows rocks falling over the opponent the opponent will react trying to dodge the rocks of course its a genjutsu but it makes it look more realistic.
Also to combat and counter against it I think me and you both know my knowledge of it >_>...you did teach me.
Wow, that was an earful. Make all of your responses to my questions of that caliber, condense the information but put in the same amount of effort. Now, of course you made some mistakes so I guess I'll clarify them for you. A genjutsu can never directly control someone's will or actions, only Sharingan genjutsus can do that. You can probe and may attempt to influence them into acting in a certain way, but ultimately the decision is theirs to take. Since I don't wield a Sharingan, I won't be able to teach you your clan exclusive techniques, Sasuke. Also, to break S-Rank Gen, biting off your tongue is a truly disgraceful method to employ. Shedding blood gives your opponent the idea that they have the upper hand, not to mention the blood loss and the fact you'll no longer be capable of speech...or taste >_>. Before we proceed, read the following transcript which will detail how our Genjutsu will proceed as well as provide additional information on the subject. Make sure to read all of it.
The first step in realizing a genjutsu is observing for anything overly-obvious or something which would naturally probe your character's suspicion. In battle, I want you to observe even the smallest of disturbances in your surroundings and the slightest inconsistencies. I want you to notice, if a tree begins coiling around you, does it produce growing sounds as it emerges ? If a fireball is shot towards you, does the heat of the technique resonate from it and make you feel like the temperature is rising ? If you see an illusionary clone walking towards you, does it bend the grass when it walks ? If you get burnt by something, does the wound sizzle as the burn is inflicted ? Does the water beneath your feet ripple when you walk, or make any splashing sounds ?
Pay very close attention to the senses a technique affects, its fundamental to breaking a genjutsu. If a technique doesn't specify the senses it affects, make sure you don't assume anything. Find other ways of seeing through the technique. Does the illusion respect the laws of reality ? Does the illusion distort happen to abruptly and distorts the natural occurrence of events ? I can't teach you how to realize every genjutsu, I can only teach you the concept of doing so. The rest is up to how much you take away from this training. One thing to bare in mind is, when you're trying to realize genjutsu, don't come up with extremely complicated thought processes or anything which wouldn't be realistic in the heat of a battle. I don't want you to "god-mod" or try to use knowledge your character doesn't have to break Genjutsus. You must be realistic and legitimate in the way you break genjutsus. I'd hate to be that guy who teaches his students to metagame their way out of illusions >_>
Additional Information I'd like you to read
1) Kai Release Method
( Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy, unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may use this technique through physical contact on others to dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic as to why he figured out it was an illusion.
Using Kai to release Genjutsu is the simplest and arguably most common method. After performing a single handseal, the user will stop their chakra flow for a moment before spiking it to purge the opponent's foreign chakra from your body, hence releasing the illusionary technique. It can range from a C-Rank to an S-Rank technique, depending on the rank of the genjutsu you're trying to break. If an A-Rank Genjutsu is cast on you, you'll use an A-Rank Kai to release the technique. Keep in mind that even if you learn Kai, to break higher ranking genjutsus e.g. A-Ranks, you have to be of the right ninja rank (determined by posts). Also, it requires a single handseal to perform and so this technique can't be used against Genjutsus which paralyze/immobilize your body.
Other things to remember is, its a really uncreative method and some fights have rules stating either "one kai per battle" or "No Kai at all". Make sure to watch out for rules like this and don't become too dependent on using it. I don't think i've ever used Kai xD
2) Pain Release Method
Like you all correctly stated, Pain Release is the quickest but the most consequential of all Genjutsu Release methods. You can inflict this pain upon yourself in various ways e.g. removing a kunai to stab your arm or biting off your tongue. Usually people attempt to simply bite their tongue/the inside of their cheek but this seems like an invalid method.
1) Biting your tongue without removing it will break D-Rank Genjutsu at most
2) Biting off your tongue seems like a disgraceful/embarrassing method to use. Especially if you have to spit it out in front of your opponent. It will make them feel like they have the upper hand
3) The severe blood loss caused by biting off your tongue will give you about three turns to live (possibly less).
4) You can't talk anymore xD
And so as I say to all my students, never release a Genjutsu through biting off your tongue.
This is the chart of releasing genjutsus and the amount of pain you need to inflict on yourself:
D-Ranks: Biting your tongue or equivalent
C-Rank: Cutting yourself slightly e.g. piercing your skin with a kunai
B-Ranks: Small stab wound or equivalent
A-Ranks: You need to stab/inflict serious harm to a limb or equivalent
S-Ranks: You need to lose limb or inflict equivalent pain
Another nice way I learnt from Better to release Genjutsus is using the C-Rank Stone Spikes technique. When you realize a Genjutsu, whether it paralyzes you or not, channel your doton chakra into the ground and cause a single spike of earth to emerge. Angle the spike the depending on how much pain you want to inflict.
(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique lets the user create a few rock pillars that will protrude from the ground to skew the target. The rock pillars will even pass through obstacles to reach their target
If you're breaking a A-Rank or below gen, angle the spike to strike into your thigh or another part of your non-dominant leg.
If you're breaking S-Rank gen (and have no other options), angle the spike to emerge directly beneath one of your legs, to completely crush it up to the knee region. This will keep you standing up and block blood from gushing out of your body.
This method inflicts serious harm on to you and is only recommended if you have no other options. Sometimes this is the best method to use and so its better to take many wounds rather than fail to counter a Genjutsu. Also, this isn't a possible method to use when you're standing on water or a similar terrain. If you have a bio which can heal or take such wounds e.g. Hidan, Kakuzu, a medical shinobi, using Pain to release genjutsu is very tactical indeed. You don't waste a move countering one of their techniques by making full use of your bio's capabilities.
3) Full body surges
A full body surge is basically a technique which releases/leeks chakra out of every chakra point on your body at the same time. This sudden burst of chakra purges any foreign chakra residing in the body. A full body surge will break Genjutsu of one rank lower than it e.g. an A-Rank Surge breaks B-Rank and below Genjutsus. New rpers often only associate the word "surge" which lightning techniques, when in actuality all elements have potential to be full body surges.
We'll be using the following template for all of the Genjutsu techniques we learn. You will learn two at a time, testing each and every Genjutsu you learn on eachother. Whilst under the effects of the Genjutsu, your partner will recite out loud how he/she can logically deduce why they think they're within a Genjutsu. Once they do this, they will successfully break out of the illusion and cast the other in the same Genjutsu. The faster you take to this and the more detailed your replies means we'll breeze through Genjutsu.

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.
For the first technique, I'd like you to cast your partner in a genjutsu which changes a single feature about the battlefield itself e.g. makes a wall rise up, creates a pond or water source and etc. Quite a basic technique, doesn't require much explanation.
Key Points: Cannot effect things which aren't considered the terrain e.g. masking the fact you've thrown a kunai. Also, pay very close attention to wording. This jutsu only changes the way the terrain looks, meaning no sounds and smells are produced along with it. Also, any features you create, are of course intangible.
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.
After doing that, I'd like you to perform a string of five handseals to cause your partner to see you "dissolve" into a cloud of cherry blossoms. These same cherry blossom petals will move towards the opponent and cloud his/her vision, allowing you to mask your movements in reality.
Key Points: Lower ranking techniques tend to control less senses, this probably controls the sense of sight *hint hint*
Now, follow my instructions, fill out the template and no one will get hurt xD.
I gather my chakra and insert it towards Kakazu. I make simple changes towards the terrain. I have the left side of him to appear a bush with 10 thorn flowers and the grassy area becomes much longer in size which hinders movement.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I would use this to scare my opponent, lets say I make the ground turn to solid ice, he would be fearful of his balance and almost shaken up, from that I can send a simple arieal attack.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Its quite simple, its all about touch. Whether you turn the ground or area to something different for vision its feel is the same. So turning the ground to a pond would be bad especially if I was first standing on grass. I'd still be able to feel the soft cushen of grass on my feet.
Your preferred method of release: Pain release, it is way to low of a rank to waste a kai or spend chakra for a full body surge.
Rate the technique out of ten: 6 ( Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Okay so I gather my chakra and channel it towards the brain wave of kakazu disrupting it. I have petals of flower appear all around him from toes all the way up to his head,
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: It's main purpose is to hinder vision. So I can have the petals show and distract the opponent and try to send attacks towards his blind side or below him. It be hard to evade and release.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Well if they are petals of flower then naturally those flower would have a smell. Though being close to it, I would easily notice that the flowers give no smell so I can use that to deduce its a genjutsu.
Your preferred method of release: Pain, a simple punch is all that is needed. I don't want to waste chakra.
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes
For this next technique, I'd like you to perform a single handseal before tossing a paper bomb towards the your opponent. The person you tapped in the genjutsu will instead see an illusionary clone of the user walking towards them. In battle, you'd detonate the paper bomb as it reaches your target, however since this is training do not detonate the explosive tags. We don't want any of you getting killed
Key Points: Its an illusionary clone, gives you a good idea of how you to realize this Genjutsu.
( Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.
Following a similar concept, this Genjutsu also causes the user to see illusionary clones. Focus your chakra into your target's mind, causing them to see multiple clones of the user emerging from terrain-based features e.g. rocks, trees. If any of the clones are attacked, they'll appear to multiply, meaning it will seem as the opponent is not making in progress in defeating them. You can also co-ordinate and time your attacks with the clones to add an element of realism to the technique.
Key Points: Like the last technique, these clones do not disturb the terrain since they're purely illusionary. If you cause them to emerge from water, the water source will not ripple or produce any splashing sounds. Its best used in a noisy area (e.g. on a water source in stormy conditions).
I take a explosive tag out and send it in the air heading towards kakazu. As it heads towards you, I do one hand seal and manipulate your chakra brain waves to have you see the paper bomb as a clone. As the clone gets close and touches you, so does the tag, but I do not detonate it.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: This is a combo in itself but to do further damage I would try to set up a attack from behind him. Probably go under ground and appear from behind if he deciphers it a gen I can attack him, if he does not I can finish him off.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Seeing a clone dash towards me their are so many things to consider. One being is he making an sound with every step he takes. Does the grass move around the steps of the clone. Does his clothing or hair wave when he is running. By looking at this it's simple to say its a genjutsu.
Your preferred method of release: Well the fact that a tag is coming at me, I would use a simple full body surge to release me as well as the type that can cover my body so a armor type body surge.
Rate the technique out of ten: 7 ( Kasumi Jusha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
I gather my chakra and channel it towards kakazu brain wave disupting it. I do one hand seal and have three clone appear. One out of a pound, the other a rock, and the last one behind a tree. All dash towards kakazu.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: Well due to the way of genjutsu. I would simply send a coupe of kunais with tags. They would move fast but the opponent would not here it, so they can't use it to decipher the genjutsu, its simple but effective.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: The same as above pretty much. The clones I would look close to them. Does he make any sounds while running, does terrain alter where they appear from.
Your preferred method of release: This is mainly a distractor so again I'd user a type of armor full body surge.

Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.
Now I want you to perform a string of two handseals before focusing your chakra into your target's mind. Utilize this chakra to cause him/her to see a swirl of leaves surrounding them, before making it die down and fall away. A few seconds after this, your target will see an image of whatever they fear most in this world, severely shocking them and potentially causing them to faint. However, most ninja are strong hearted and so won't faint as a result of this jutsu, bare that in mind.

Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line, when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle for hours, they will be exhausted.
An exceedingly simple technique, but most tend to misunderstand or over-complicate it. If your opponent is running towards you in a straight line (if they do not specify, assume its a linear path towards you), you can cast them in this genjutsu. The genjutsu will cause them to see themselves continuing on in this straight line path, when in reality they're running around in circles and not covering any ground.
The technique itself is a basic chakra surge which can dispel up to S-Rank genjutsus if your rank permits it. As it requires a single handseal, any genjutsus which hinder your upper body maneuverability or cause paralysis which affects your arms can't be dispelled by this method. Genjutsu is commonly used to paralyze or prohibit certain movements e.g. handseals and so more often that not, this technique won't be a viable method of release. Personally, I don't use the jutsu that often since I like to think I would cope perfectly fine without it since there was once a limit on how many times this jutsu could be used per battle. It seems like its seen as the easy way out of genjutsus and the least creative method possible. However, sometimes its the best option to take as pain release is problematic for most bios and this technique can be used to free team mates from an illusion.
Key Points: Make sure to watch the rules for battles very closely, many of them say "No Sub/No Kai".
I do 2 hand seals and manipulate my chakra towards the brain waves of kakazu. As the chakra disrupts his brain wave, I have leaves appear out of nowhere and spin rapidly around him. I then manipulate them once more by dropping the leaves down and having his greatest fear appear. Someone spending money recklessly
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I would use this to try and get in close of the opponent. The moment he either deciphers it I will appear and kill him instantyl.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: The leaves. I'm not going to wait for them to drop or anything. Who would? I would react from their. Again when the leaves spin around me would I hear the spiralling through and around the air? No I would not. Also if I was to touch them, though not best. The leaves would simply go through me.
Your preferred method of release: Pain release is the best thing to do.
Rate the technique out of ten: 5 ( Kori Shinchu no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique
As Kakazu is running towards me in a straight line, I simply inject my chakra in his brain wave and manipulate the movement of him from running straight into running in circles countless times exhausting him.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: As the opponent is constantly running around. I would manipulate the ground to shake so he loses his balance badly and I can do a simple attack.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: By constantly running around in a circle I can use the terrain to notice the genjutsu. Lets say I notice the same rock over and over again it would not make sense that alone would allow me to notice the gen.
Your preferred method of release: full body surge, mainly nagashi. I can send a attack as well as get out the gen.
Rate the technique out of ten: 5 ( Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
As kakazu places me on a normal genjutsu. Knowing its a genjutsu, I do one hand seal and focus my chakra. I shut it off and release it creating a large spike in my chakra wave thus stopping the gen.
Hm, usually its better to avoid this genjutsu entirely by running in a non-linear path e.g. a zigzag-like motion. However, if you do happen to be caught in it, you could simply use the reasoning you stated or use thrown objects to decipher you're moving in circles, since more likely than not the object will go off on angled flight path, clearly showing you're not moving in a straight line. I particularly like Lili-Chwan's reasoning on how to realize Genjutsus such as these.
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:30
Description: The user of this technique, upon casting on a stationary opponent with physical contact with them, is able to convince the enemy to give away information. However, this will only work on ninja two ranks lower and below than the caster.
This technique is rather basic and will require a target far weaker than you who is unable to move/paralyzed. For that reason, you'll be testing on my lab rat aka Margarine. After I paralyze him through the use of an unfocused burst of electricity, I want you to place your dominant palm on his forehead before focusing your chakra into his mind to "convince" him to reveal information. Usually Genjutsus cannot control the opponent's actions (except Sharingan gens), however this technique has many requirements to be able to do so. The opponent must be much weaker than you, physical contact is required which amplifies its effects and they must be weakened enough to be incapable of movements altogether.
Key Points: Not particularly useful for battle, however its a nice rp tactic to use in the Ninja World.

Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.
For this technique, I want you to cast your target in an illusion where they see a massive blast of fire descending from the sky above. This Genjutsu only affects the sense of sight, meaning the fireball can easily be distinguished from the real thing e.g. its devoid of heat, sounds of crackling and the characteristic smell of fire/the smoke it produces.
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15

Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.
Finally, I want you to cast your opponent in a Genjutsu where they see a illusionary clone of you charging towards them. Once the clone gets within range of them, it jumps up and explodes into a cloud of cherry blossoms which masks their sight and disorientates them.
Key Points: Realizing this genjutsu relies primarily on the fact that its an "illusionary clone *hint hint*
( Genjutsu: Jinmon ) - Illusion Technique: Interrogation
With the lab rat not moving anymore. I place my hand on its head and injects my chakra in him. By doing so I have him under my genjutsu. I ask him who he hates the most between kakazu and me. He said me
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I would have to restrict the opponents movement. Aim for the legs and break them, and then bind him using earth flow which can bind the legs and from their I can use the genjutsu.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: When caught their is not much you can do if I was two ranks lower their is almost nothing that can be done, it mainly depends on the opponent and the questions he ask, all depends on how I can decipher that. As long as I'm high in rank this is nothing that can harm me. Luckily Kage rank makes me imune to this gen.
Your preferred method of release: nagashi to shock my opponent and paralyze them envasion would be near impossible as well with it and I get out the gen,

( Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka ) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
I gather my chakra and inject towards kakazu's brain wave. I manipulate it to have him see a large fireball appear out of nowhere which tries to descend up on him to act as a distraction.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: Since it descends from above, I'd use a ground attack like earth spikes to spew from below. Tough to decipher and hard to evade trying to cover my opponent from all direction.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: No heat giving off from the fireball, no sounds of crackling. It becomes almost to simple.
Your preferred method of release: Simple pain release, nothing to much just enough a small punch or cut.
Rate the technique out of ten: 4
( Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu ) - Illusion Technique: Mist Technique
Okay I cast a genjutsu by inserting my chakra towards kakazu brain wave. I manipulate it so that a clone is falling towards him, just as it gets in close range it explodes in a cloud of cherry blossoms that harm his vision.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: Again something very basic could be since its attack from above I would mask it with a ground attack for the opponent not to notice it.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Their are many ways. One being while he moves through the air does his hair or clothing wave around due to the movement? Yes and I can use that to decipher. Does he cast a shadow on the ground as well as those petals? Lastly are the tangible petals and do they have any specific smell.
Your preferred method of release: A simple armor jutsu since it might take a while to deduce by that time the opponent most likely sent a attack.
Type: Supplmentary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will do a sequence of 3 handseals, putting his opponents under a double layered Genjutsu. The user is able to create false surroundings to fool his targets, much like the simpler version of the technique. However, the illusion is in fact layered. If the opponent manages to release the first one, he will then feel the effects of the second illusion. If, for example, the first illusion is that of a desert and the second that of a forest, upon releasing the first one, the opponent will see the desert fade away while the forest appears around him, making him think he dispelled the illusion while in essence he is still caught in one. Each illusion is equivalent to C-Rank and both are casted at the same time. While normal releases will release only one illusion at a time, a strong enough pain or an external source of chakra can dispel both at the same time.
For the first technique, I'd like you to cast your partner in a genjutsu which changes a single feature about the battlefield itself e.g. makes a wall rise up, creates a pond or water source and etc. However, unlike its lesser counterpart, for this technique you will add a second layer to this Genjutsu. Once the first Genjutsu is released, the second layer will be initiated e.g. You make the terrain look like a snowy wasteland, once the first layer is broken, it will transform itself into a molten/volcanic-like area.
( Konoha-Ryū: Yanagi ) - Leaf Ninja Art: Willow
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 35
Description: The user waves their sword back and forth, which when seen by the target locks them in a genjutsu which causes them to hallucinate multiple waving arms. The movement resembles that of a willow tree blowing in the wind. With the enemy off guard, the user is free to cut them down.
Now, I want you to grip a hold of your sword. If you don't have one, you can borrow one of mine. Wave the sword back and forth in front of you in a hypnotic-like manner. When the opponent looks upon the sword, they'll be trapped in a Genjutsu (looking at the sword is what initiates the Genjutsu). The hallucination/genjutsu will cause them to see your arm become several waving arms. While they're confused, you're free to cut them down.
Key Points: A good technique for Kenjutsu users. Never found this jutsu too useful
I do the 3 hand seals and cast a illusion on kakazu which creates the ground around the entire terrain to turn into ice, I then make a layering which if he breaks from it first the ground will then turn into pure lava. So right when he breaks the ice layer the area will turn to lava. Scaring Kakazu.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: By layering the it gives me much time. I would try to use that time to my advantage, probably set up a long performance type attack like kirin so I can finish the battle off.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Its easy honestly the terrain is illusion but you can still feel the grass or rocky surface. If the opponent creates a ice would they feel the coolness of the ice or if they made lava would they feel the intense heat.
Your preferred method of release: I would need something too have to protect and release due to the fact it take a long time to decipher being a layering gen.

Questions about the technique (Optional): How are you able to decipher its a layering? So I can counter both at once.
( Konoha-Ryu: Yanagi ) - Leaf Ninja Art: Willow
I take out my sword and begin to hold it by the hilt and let it dangle down. I wave it side to side while doing so I insert my chakra towards kakazu brain wave. This have a genjutsu wet where he sees many of my arms dangling the sword from all over the area. This is meant to distract him.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I would have to continuosly weave the sword so I would make a clone before hand. I would set the genjutsu and then have the clone take to the offense and kill the opponent before he can react.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Their are many ways tbh, one being waving it through the air would set of a sound of metal going around the air. Also when the hands appear from everywhere would they cast a shadow.
Your preferred method of release: Kai release since its meant to stop the opponents movement, full body surge like the nagashi. Something quick so I don't lose my rythem.

Description: The user puts the opponent into a genjutsu which has snakes appear beneath the opponent to constrict them and with the users command, they crush the opponent. In reality, the opponent is immobilized and takes damage due to the stress on his mind.
Now, I'd like you to place my clone in a Genjutsu in which he sees snakes appear beneath him, quickly coiling around him before constricting with him with enough force to crush his body. In reality, he'll be paralyzed and will take damage due to mental stress.
Key Points: Its recommended that you use this jutsu in a grassy or rocky landscape, whilst the opponent is positioned firmly on the ground. If you cast this on a mid-air opponent, he/she will immediately realize its a Genjutsu. U
I also strongly advise against using this jutsu on a water source since the snakes will not distrub the water as they rise up, meaning not a single ripple, spray of water or splashing sound will occur. Vigilant shinobi will see right through this, less attentive ones will overlook it.
I cast a genjutsu on kakazu by sending chakra towards his brain wave. Snakes appear out of nowhere beneath him which begin to restrict his entire body. They slither up and bind him.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: This is simply meant to stop the opponents movement. I would use a aireal attack so it be hard to notice he will likely just look at the snakes below.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Okay this effects vision and touch. So I would use my hearing. Snakes would hiss due to their nature, but if I hear no hissing I can use that to easily break the gen.
Your preferred method of release: kai simple quick and I won't be caught from a follow up.

Description: Similar to Illusion Technique: Tree Binding Death, the user will do the Dog → Hare → Snake → Ram hand seals and trigger an illusion where the user first disappears, while the target sees several bean vines growing from the ground around and beneath him. These vines bind the target body, lifting them into the air. Then a bean pod rises from the ground to reveal the user, ready to strike. In reality, the opponent is immobilized by the illusion, allowing the user to strike.
For this first technique, I want you to string together the following sequence of handseals *displays* before utilizing your chakra to trigger an illusion which first gives the appearance of you suddenly disappearing into thin air. After that, you will force your target to see several bean vines growing from the earth beneath and around him, the organic tendrils quickly launching him into the air before wrapping around him, leaving them paralyzed in reality. Suddenly, a bean pod will emerge from the ground, which will open up to reveal you, leaving you ready to strike down your foe.

Description: The user will trap the target within an illusion where the opponent appears to be trapped in a large flower bud which then explodes. The opponent is made to believe that an explosion actually occurred and collapses, believing himself to be injured. The resulting stress on his mind causes damage.
Now, I want you to trap your target in an illusion which causes him to see a large flower bud growing out of the floor, closing around him from all sides to trap him. Once he's captured, the flower bud will suddenly explode and your target will collapse, due to the intensive mental stress he's forced to undergo.

Description: The user makes five handseals, and appears to dissolve into a mist. Once they stealthily approach the target and get within short-range, the opponent feels completely immobilized, and believes they have been bound by a fast-growing tree and are unable to move. The user then appears as if they emerge from the tree to attack the target. In reality, the target is immobilized, allowing the user to strike or interrogate them.
Finally, I want you to make a sequence of five handseals before trapping your opponent in an illusion in which he sees you dissolve into a mist. Meanwhile, you will stealthily approach the target and get within short-range and the opponent will believe themselves to be bound by a fast-growing tree. The opponent will then see you emerge from the tree, ready to attack or interrogate them.
I insert my chakra towards kakazu chakra points in his brain, which makes me disappear from his vision. As I disappear vines grow rapidly from the ground which act to bind kakzu restrcting his movement.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: Well its purpose is to stop the opponent from moving so something simple not to waste chakra like a kunai tagged would be more then enough.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: The texture of the vine I would look at if it has the same feel as a regular vine. Also looking on the ground is their a shadow going out.
Your preferred method of release: Full body surge type armor would make most sense.

( Magen: Hanarasui ) - Demonic Illusion: Flower Head Death
I inject my chakra inside of kakazu brain wave. This summons a flower petal to appear out of nowhere which traps him. As he is trapped it causes an explode a couple seconds later. Where in reality he has stress due to thinking he is injured.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I would layer it when I summon the flower I would in reality use a jutsu to bind him in reality, so it be even harder to decipher it and even if he did somehow he would be binded and get knocked out from suffocation.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Close to the previous one. Does it cast a shadow the flower? Also the texture is it the same of a flower. Lastly if I'm stuck in a flower their has to be some type of smell from the flower.
Your preferred method of release: This is meant to harm my mental state. So using something quick before it explodes it best. Since it's B-Rank probably kai.

( Magen: Jubaku Satsu ) - Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death
I do 5 hand seals and disappear like a mist. The moment I disappear a tree grows from the ground and binds kakazu. From their I appear from the tree and touch him on the shoulder where in reality he is not moving at all.
Combinations you could make with this jutsu: Well its main purpose is to restrict the opponent and appear from their so I can just slit his throat with a kunai.
Your reasoning on why you would deduce it to be a Genjutsu: Its quite simple, as every plant type gen. I would feel the obvious texture of the tree. Is it hard like bark or not. Also again does it cast a shadow or not. This type gens are simple.
Your preferred method of release: A nagashi since the opponent needs to be close range he will be hit from the nagashi.

Description: The user summons up illusionary purple flowers from the ground in front of them, damaging enemies with a chance to paralyze them.
Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.
Focus your chakra into my clone once against to summon purple illusionary flowers from the ground in front of him, which serve to paralyze through unknown means.
Key Points: Personally, I hate everything about this particular technique. Using flowers in a battle feels to feminine, the lack of logic behind the techniques creation and the fact its limited to short range all make this a useless technique to me. Perhaps you'll find better use for it, who knows.

Description: The user makes one handseal, placing the opponent in a genjutsu. The user then tosses a large number of explosive tags at the opponent. To the opponent, it looks as if they are countless butterflies. The opponent then believes they are sinking into the ground, in reality making them immobilized; this allows the user to place one final exploding tag on their forehead before detonating all the tags simultaneously.
For this 2nd technique, I want you to perform a single handseal and place the opponent in a Genjutsu, before tossing large number of explosive tags in their direction. The genjutsu will make the papertags look like butterflies, before the opponent sees himself sinking into the ground at a rapid rate, causing him to be immobilized in reality. After all of that, you will place a single exploding tag on my clone's forehead, before detonating all of the tags simulatenously.
Key Points: I won't say much, since describing this technique is your job. However, all I'll say is, there are many ways to realize this is a genjutsu throughout the course of the technique.
