Tell me everything you know about Genjutsu in the Narutoverse

Genjutsu or Illusionary techniques is one of the most important technique for a shinobi. It works in the same way as the ninjutsu involving Chakra and Handseals to performs.
Genjutsu is mainly the act of not causig physical attacks like ninjutsu ot taijutsu but something like directly affecting the mental state of the opponent.
Affecting the mental state of the opponent is achieved by disturbing the flow of chakra in the victims body. i.e the user uses his chakra to disrupt to flow of chakra in the opponents body there by creating an illusional world for the opponent which can be only seen or felt by him.
there are manu genjutsu. like the one which involve direct handseals. through visual contact. through physical touch and through sound.
The sound genjutsu is said to be more powerful as it is very difficult to avoid.
The genjutsu can be cancelled if the user creates a suddern outburst of chakra or if an ally infuses a small amount of his chakra to the victims body in order to make a steady chakra flow.
The Uchiha's are said to be the most powerful genjutsu user as they use their Sharingan(Dojutsu) to cast genjutsu. i.e if the victim see the casters eyes then he is done for.
Kurenei Yuhi is also famous for her genjutsu.
It was also mention that the Kurama clan are also known for their genjutsu prowess.
Tayuya's genjutsu and the forg genjutsu are considered to be powerful genjutsu because the genjutsu is casted via sound.
Itachi's Tsukiyomi is one of the most powerful genjutsu.

- If it's overdone the opponent can become aware that he is in a Genjutsu.

Can be used in combo with setting traps to make the opponent come and fall into the trap.

Ways to counter this technique
A general Chara surge by oneself. or a inducing pain(like biting the fingers for a summon) to oneself.

I now channel my chakra into sensei's clones brain such that I make the terrain look like it has quicksand in some areas and only a few area without quicksand. those area's are filled with paper bombs.

- Releasing the genjutsu is pretty easy stuff.
- Long hand seal.


Combinations-strategies

Can be used in combo with Any higher rank jutsu as the genjutsu block the opponents vision, the user will have enough time for a stealth attack.

Ways to counter this technique

Can be countered with a Chakra surge or Biting the thumb like doing for a summoning.

I now perform the required hand seal, And make the clone think that it's dissolved in a shower of cherry blossom petals. Then I sneek up behind the clone and finish it with a chidori.

- Only one hand seal, which makes this jutsu a versatile and quick one on the battle field.
- It will be difficult for the opponent the realize that he's trapped in a genjutsu.
- A very good genjutsu to come up with combo.


Weak points :

- The major weak point is that the jutsu is short range, which means the genjutsu will be succesfull only if the caster is at close range with the opponent.
- If the opponent uses a shield, or other ranged jutsu to counter the clone aka kunai then the genjutsu will fail.


Combinations-strategies :
If perfectly timed, and used within short range, the attack will be succesfull before even the opponent realizes that he was under genjutsu, the opponent will be open after the genjutsu attack. so it will give him less reaction time to counter the next jutsu.

Ways to counter this technique:
Can be countered by used a earth wall for defence, or maintaining a mid-long range from the jutsu caster.

You Doing the jutsu:
I now run towards the opponent, when I am in short range with the opponent I then perform a single hand seal and throw the explosive kunai towards the opponent, which will look like clone running towards him. As the clone reaches near the opponent I then burst the kunai therby distracting the opponent which will buy me some time for perfecting the final blow.

This genjutsu is a excellent technique to sneak up behind the opponent and launch a powerful technique.
It can also be used in combo with the taju kage bunshin to confuse the opponent.

Ways to counter this technique
A regular chakra surge or Biting the lips or finger.

I now concentrate my chakra and make many illusions of myself and trap the clone in the genjutsu. I then sneak up behind the clone and finish it with a final blow.

- opponent can easily predict that they are in a easy genjutsu trap.
- opponent can easily break free from the genjutsu.

Combinations-strategies
Can be used in combo with any high rank jutsu to give a final blow to the opponent.
Can also be used for sneak attack.

Ways to counter this technique
A regular chakra surge or Biting the lips or finger.

I now concentrate my chakra and perform the two handseals. I then make the opponent belive that they are surrounded by a swivel of leafs. after that the opponent most frightening thing comes before their eyes. I now use this distraction to finish off the opponent.

( Kori Shinchū no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique

Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line, when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle for hours, they will be exhausted.

Have my clone believe that he is going straight at you when he is really going in circles till he gets exhausted and passes out.

Combinations-strategies
Can be used as a very good combo against the opponent who is running towards the user. Tihis genjutsu can be combined with any large scale attacks so that the attacks will be super effective.It can be also used as a last minute counter agains the opponent who comes at you for the final blow.

Ways to counter this technique
Low level physical attack lke scratching with a kunai or a full body surge like Chidori Nagashi.
(P.S I have mastered Lightning so I can use Nagashi )

Sensei's clone tries to come at me to attack, As the clone comes near I gather my chakra and focus it on the clone. the clone then belives that it is travelling in a straight line while it actually travells in circles. It then get's exhausted and fades out.

Strong points

- More than in normal battle, this genjutsu can be used in NW activities to gather intel from the opponent village ninjas. This technique will serve as a versatile technique for information gathering and strategy planning from the gained intel.


Weak points

- There are more of week points that strong for this jutsu.Can be used only opon stationery opponent. Cannot be casted upon moving opponents. Will be successful only upon ninjas who are two or more ranks below that the jutsu user and also there is no particular damage effect for this jutsu.


Combinations-strategies
This can be used as a end battle technique when the opponent is defeated to gather intel from him.

Ways to counter this technique
By biting the tongue or by causing more physical pain like piercing with a kunai.

You Doing the jutsu.
As senpai's clone approaches me I use the ( Kori Shinchū no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique on the clone, the clone runs in circles continuously and get;s exhausted. after the clone is not able to run anymore I focus my chakra and place the hand in the heads of sensei's clone and cast the ( Genjutsu: Jinmon ) - Illusion Technique: Interrogation. I then pester sensei's clone to tell his Girlfriends name and the name of his secret crush.! =D
